Cleaning after party

Cleaning after party

The main task of any hostess after a noisy holiday is to bring the apartment back to its original state. Our tips will help you cope with the aftermath of New Year’s fun.

Not the most pleasant experience, because the main New Year’s symbol is also the main distributor of needles throughout the apartment. We hope you rolled up all the carpets before the holiday and now your spruce will drop needles on the floor on the way to the front door. After the tree goes straight to the staircase, you will have to thoroughly vacuum the floor – other means, such as a wet mop or a broom, will not cope with needles stuck, for example, between parquet boards or under a baseboard.

Even if you washed your favorite set, glasses and glasses on January 1, check the festive dishes again. Perhaps, right after the holiday, you were not so vigilant and attentive, and greasy stains could easily remain on the dishes. Flip the plate – they’re there! If you do not touch them until the next celebration, the spots will turn yellow, and it will be almost impossible to wipe them off. Therefore, we collect the will into a fist, take out the plates and once again carefully wash them by hand.

Crystal goblets tend to lose their luster. And all because they cannot be washed with hot water. To restore shine, rinse with vinegar and water. Fill the vases and glass glasses with the same composition, but with the addition of salt. After an hour or two, the plaque on the inner walls will disappear without a trace.

Fill a baking sheet to which the chicken is tightly burnt, fill it with hot water and leave for several hours. After that, food leftovers can be easily washed off with a hard sponge and detergent. Another way to keep the baking sheet clean is to rub it with a sink cleaner and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then fill with water and rub until clean.

Silver cutlery is cleaned with a mixture of chalk and ammonia, then rinsed and wiped dry with a soft cloth or towel.

To remove burnt paraffin, hold the candlestick under running hot water, and then gently pry the softened paraffin with a knife – it will come off easily. Then rinse the candlesticks with hot water and detergent.

One should not miss a rare occasion when there are real snowdrifts on the street. Snow cleaning is the most environmentally friendly way to return cleanliness and freshness to the carpet. Take the carpet out into the snow, throw snow on it, stomp on it together and sweep away the already dirty snow with a broom. (Read about other ways to clean carpets and upholstered furniture here.)

At the same time, take out pillows and winter blankets in the frost (you can on a balcony or loggia) – they will benefit from airing!

  • Beer, white wine – stains are removed with a sponge dipped in vodka.
  • Red wine is sprinkled with salt and washed with water. It is enough to effectively pour hot water over the stain by stretching the tablecloth over the basin.
  • Fruit – Fruit stains can be removed with hot water or hot milk. Wipe the old stain with a citric acid solution (2 g per glass of water), then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  • Coffee is taken out with a 5% solution of salt in ordinary water.
  • Tea will have to be removed with glycerin and ammonia (4: 1).
  • Paraffin – stains from burning candles must first be scrubbed very carefully with a knife, and then covered with paper and ironed with a hot iron.
  • Chocolate – In addition to stain remover, hydrogen peroxide can also help. Apply peroxide to the stain, then rinse and wash as usual.
  • Mayonnaise – Stain remover will help deal with fresh stains. Old stains are treated in the old fashioned way with gasoline, and then washed with warm water with ammonia and rinsed with warm water.

Do not rush to throw away natural pomanders (from oranges and cloves), cones, nuts that hung on the tree, pine twigs and Christmas spices. You can put it all in a glass vase, sprinkle with orange or lemon oil and use this aromatic composition to decorate the room.

Clean up a holiday outfit

It doesn’t matter what you were wearing – a bunny costume or a formal dress. In any case, the festive outfit needs to be freshened up without putting it on the back burner. Firstly, fresh pollution will go away more easily, and secondly, your clothes will be ready again (after all, there is still a whole series of holidays ahead). Dry cleaning is waiting for you!

There is not much left – to wash the floors, wipe the mirrors and start the washing machine. After the work, reward yourself with a relaxing bubble bath, but first wipe and unplug your phone.
