This book was created on the basis of a lecture given at Harvard by one of the most prominent specialists in the field of management, Clayston Christensen.
This book was born out of a lecture given to the graduates of Harvard Business School by one of the world’s leading management specialists, Clayton Christensen. When he went on stage, bald from chemotherapy, he did not talk about his science, he thought about how a person builds his life. We have a good understanding of the processes taking place in business, but we are poorly versed in such an important matter as our own family. And the organization of the family is much more responsible than any company in which we had to work. After all, we can’t fire our kids, and they (thankfully) can’t fire us either. Christensen suggested using theories and ideas that have already been developed by scientists who have studied the successes and failures of companies in the analysis of the family. But the main thing, perhaps, is not even in concrete decisions. Our family is not something taken for granted, we need to think about it, make efforts to avoid at least obvious mistakes. And the experience of Clayton Christensen, a scientist and a man, can help with this.
