Claritine Active – indications, contraindications, use, side effects

Claritine Active is a drug in prolonged-release tablets, consisting of two active substances – loratadine (has antiallergic properties) and pseudoephedrine (has a decongestant effect on the mucosa).

Claritine Active – indications

The drug helps in the treatment of allergic rhinitis associated with congestion of the mucosa. Claritine Active it eliminates symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, burning or itching of the nose and eyes, tearing and redness of the eyes.

Claritine Active – contraindications

Contraindications to use the drug are:

  1. allergy to any of the ingredients of the drug, mainly active substances (loratadine, pseudoephedrine),
  2. allergic to drugs that constrict the blood vessels of the mucosa,
  3. narrow-angle glaucoma,
  4. problems urinating,
  5. hypertension,
  6. diseases of the heart or blood vessels,
  7. the occurrence of a stroke
  8. pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  9. age under 12,
  10. abnormal esophagus function,
  11. the use of antidepressants from the group of inhibitors,
  12. difficulty swallowing tablets.

Claritine Active – application

Adults and children should take the drug twice a day one tablet each – preferably at 12-hour intervals. Taking the product should not exceed 10 days.

Claritine Active – missed dose or taking a higher dose

In case of omission of Claritine Active dose should not be used doses double, take your medicine at the regular time. In case of accepting a larger one doses drug than recommended, contact your doctor immediately.

The doctor or pharmacist should be informed about any medications taken or planned to be taken, as some medications taken with the Claritine Active may cause symptoms such as arrhythmias, high blood pressure or low blood pressure. The drug cannot be used simultaneously with antidepressants from the group of monoamine oxidase inhibitors or 14 days after discontinuation of their use.

  9. weight gain.

Claritine Active – composition

The drug contains active substances – loratadine and pseudoephedrine sulfate. One tablet contains 5 mg of loratadine and 120 mg of pseudoephedrine sulphate. The auxiliary substances are: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, povidone, magnesium stearate. The shell contains: acacia gum, sucrose, calcium sulphate dihydrate, calcium sulphate anhydrous, rosin, zein, oleic acid, neutral soap, talc, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium dioxide, white wax, carnauba wax.

Claritine Active – storage

The drug should be stored in a closed package at a temperature below 25 degrees C, out of the reach of children.
