Citropepsin is an agent that is used in patients with a lack of appetite. The active substance of the oral drug is pepsin, which is involved in protein synthesis.

Citropepsin – application

Citropepsin is worth using in the case of:

  1. lack of appetite;
  2. non-acidity;
  3. dyspeptic complaints;
  4. insufficient secretion of gastric juice.

Regular use of Citropepsin makes the patient feel an increased appetite. In addition, the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach increases. Thanks to pepsin, proteins are properly digested.

Citropepsin – composition

The composition of Citropepsin includes:

  1. pepsin (1: 4000) which has an activity of not less than 1280 FIP / g;
  2. sucrose;
  3. Crystallizing liquid sorbitol (E420);
  4. citric acid anhydrous;
  5. sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate;
  6. fine benzoesan;
  7. strawberry flavor;
  8. purified water.

Citropepsin – dosage

Citropepsin is taken orally. Usually, the patient takes 5-10 ml (2-3 tablespoons) of the preparation 15 minutes before a meal three times a day. You can also serve 15 ml (1 tablespoon) diluted in boiled water (1/2 cup). The same dosage applies to both adults and children.

Citropepsin – contraindications

The main contraindication to the use of Citropepsin is hypersensitivity to any of the substances contained in the fluid. Hyperacidity as well as excessive secretion of gastric juice also prevent the patient from taking Citropepsin.

Citropepsin – precautions

Due to the presence of sucrose and liquid sorbitol crystallizing in the composition, special care should be taken in the case of people who:

  1. fructose intolerant;
  2. are sucrose-isomaltase deficient;
  3. have glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Citropepsin — cena

Citropepsin oral drug is available at the pharmacy. Its cost is about PLN 25. Citropepsin is not a reimbursed drug. It has a characteristic green and yellow package with lemons on the label. There is 180 g of oral fluid in the bottle, which should be stored below 15 degrees.
