Cities in Russia where cats are most loved

By the way, two-thirds of Russians love the purr. There were much fewer “dog-lovers”.

Lovers of cats and dogs have always been divided into two camps. Someone does not tolerate animals that “walk on their own”, while cat lovers are completely indifferent to the canine manifestations of boundless devotion and love of life. However, there are those who are equally warm (or cool) equally about puppies and kittens.

Recently, research company Zoom Market put an end to heated discussions about who is better – cats or dogs. According to a sociological survey, it turned out that cats are still loved more in Russia – 66% of respondents voted for them. Those who prefer dogs are much less – only 29%. Hamsters, parrots, fish and other smaller brothers also have fans. But very few – only 5% of Russians choose birds and rodents.

Note that only those who already have pets took part in the survey. Dreams about cats and dogs are good, but such desires have nothing to do with statistics. Thanks to this approach, the company was able not only to tell about their favorite pets, but also to find out in which cities Russians love cats the most.

In first place among the main “cat” cities was Astrakhan… No less than these pets are loved in the capital of our homeland – Moscow took the honorable second line. Closes the top three Samara… In the cold and rainy St. Petersburg choose animals that do not need to walk in bad weather: the city took fourth place among those who keep cats at home. And in fifth place – Novosibirsk, there is also crazy about cats. In addition, the top 15 also includes Vladivostok, Saratov, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Voronezh and Krasnodar. A total of 2640 people took part in the survey.
