Christian Dior Cruise 2016 makeup

On May 11, near Cannes, the French brand unveiled the Christian Dior Cruise 2016 collection. The venue for the show was Palais Bulles, an amazing villa owned by Pierre Cardin, while Dior’s Creative Director of Makeup Peter Philips created the perfect looks with natural make-up.

Dior’s Creative Director of Makeup Peter Philips created a fresh and very natural look to showcase Raf Simons’ cruise collection for Dior. “This makeup came out very natural because I wanted to play in contrast with the Raf Simons collection, which is full of bright prints, colors and decorative elements,” explains the makeup artist.

He adds, “The radiant, naturally beautiful look reflects the relaxed side of this youth-infused collection.”

Tone

The make-up artist used Diorskin Star foundation, applying it with light, punching strokes to achieve a medium-dense finish that still looks natural. Peter added some color to the cheekbones and chin with a natural pink blush. Finally, a little highlighter for a natural glow.

Eyes

Natural shades from the Backstage Eye Reviver palette were used for eye makeup. “I covered the entire upper eyelid with a base, then added one of the shades of the palette to suit each of the models. I applied the darkest pigment along the lash line, but not too brightly. Then I curled the lashes and covered them with Diorshow mascara, and highlighted the eyebrows with a pencil and transparent gel. “

lips

“For a subtle shine, I used Dior Contour Universel 001 and Lip Maximizer 006 Sunrise Limited Summer Shine.”

Nails

“I decorated the models’ hands with three light shades of Dior Vernis: classic Muguet, sunny yellow Sunkissed and pale pink Sunwashed (the last two are from the limited summer collection of Dior Tie Dye makeup).”

Hair

The hairstyles were traditionally done by stylist Guido Palau. He created natural styling from loose hair that fell gently over the shoulders.
