Choosing good caviar: good advice

Take the jar in your hands and shake it. There should not be anything gurgling or moving inside. Since high-quality granular red caviar fills the jar tightly and without voids.

Pay attention to the packing date of the caviar. Red caviar is mined in July-August. If any other month is indicated on the lid, it means that frozen caviar was salted or previously produced caviar was packed. And, of course, the quality of caviar will not be up to par.

Press down on the lid with your finger. It should not be overshadowed and in no case should it be swollen.

Look carefully at the marking, it should be stamped from the inside, if the numbers are pressed inward – in front of you is a fake.

Which container is the best for caviar?

Transparent glass allows you to see the color, size and quality of the grain of red caviar. If the red caviar looks like it is covered with frost, it is fake. The disadvantages include the fact that transparent glass transmits light, which destroys the vitamins contained in the caviar. But if the glass jar is also packed in a cardboard box, this is the best option.

Tin packaging allows caviar to be stored for a long time, and the disadvantage is obvious – you cannot consider the product.

Caviar in hard plastic containers, which is increasingly found on the market, does not last long, but it is quite good. When buying such caviar, immediately look at the shelf life and the type of product.

Red caviar, which is for sale by weight, you can try before buying. And this is its main advantage. But it happens that this is how caviar is sold that has been frozen or unsuitable for packaging due to the expiration date, overripe.

Evaluate how crumbly such caviar is, the eggs should easily separate from each other and not stick to the shoulder blade. If the caviar looks like a sticky, shapeless mass, don’t buy it.

Remember, an open jar of caviar can only be stored for 24 hours.
