Choosing a vacuum cleaner for your home Overview of types of vacuum cleaners for your home

It is difficult to imagine modern life without a vacuum cleaner. It is necessary to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the living space.

Choosing a vacuum cleaner for your home is not as easy as it seems at first glance. It is very easy to get lost in the variety of types, models and manufacturers. But all this huge assortment can be classified so that it becomes clear how the vacuum cleaners differ from each other.

By type of accommodation

Vacuum cleaners are built-in and mobile.

Built-in vacuum cleaner

Is a system that consists of a vacuum cleaner itself, an air duct system and a hose with a brush. The technical name for this design is the central dust extraction system (DSP). Such a vacuum cleaner is different from a household appliance.

Built-in DSP directly into the room. The advantage of this system is that the exhaust air is discharged outside, providing an ideal cleaning result.

Mobile vacuum cleaner for home

– this is a well-known vacuum cleaner on wheels, which we roll behind us during cleaning. Or he rolls himself – for example, a robot vacuum cleaner.

By type of cleaning

There are dry vacuum cleaners and washing vacuum cleaners.

Dry vacuum cleaners

In turn, they are subdivided into vertical and container.

  •            Vertical vacuum cleaners are a cylindrical body that is attached to the floor brush. They are convenient for cleaning large surface areas, but they have a high level of noise, large dimensions and weight.
  •            Container vacuum cleaners differ in the type of dust collector and can be of three types:

1. Vacuum cleaners with aquafilter. Such vacuum cleaners are also called a vacuum cleaner with air cleaning. They have a special reservoir into which water is poured. It is through it that the intake air passes along with the dust. A common misconception is that such vacuum cleaners are capable of anti-allergic air cleaning. In fact, fine filters are responsible for the purity of the air.

The disadvantage of vacuum cleaners with an aquafilter is the need to add water to the tank during the cleaning process. Also, in case of poor-quality factory assembly of the device, water may flow out of the filter. After each use, such a vacuum cleaner must be disassembled.

2. Vacuum cleaners with bag type dust collector… These dust bags can be both disposable and long-term (reusable). It is believed that disposable dust bags are more hygienic. A special valve allows you to remove used bags from the container of the vacuum cleaner without the risk of dust entering the surrounding space.

Thanks to new developments, the design of modern bags of this type allows you to use a household appliance with virtually no loss of power. The use of textile reusable dust collectors makes it possible to avoid unnecessary costs. However, in terms of filtration quality and hygiene, such bags are significantly inferior to their disposable counterparts.

3. Cyclonic vacuum cleaners. The principle of their work is based on the laws of physics. Omitting technical details, we can say that air and dust inside such a device are separated by centrifugal forces. The dust collector consists of an inner and outer chamber. After the end of cleaning, its contents are simply thrown away, without requiring unnecessary replacement of filters.

Washing vacuum cleaners

in their design have an additional tube running parallel to the flexible hose. A cleaning solution is continuously fed through it under high pressure. Using a washing vacuum cleaner, you can clean carpets, walls and partitions, if they are treated with a waterproof compound, tiles.

The presence of special nozzles in the kit makes it possible to wash windows, collect spilled liquid, and clean clogged pipes. Usually, aquafilters are used in devices of this type. Disadvantages of washing vacuum cleaners are their size, weight and the need to wash and dry parts after each use.

When choosing a vacuum cleaner for your home, you should pay special attention to the quantity and quality of the filters installed. Find out how often they need to be replaced and whether it is easy to find such vacuum cleaner filters on the market. With the right information, it will not be difficult to choose the right vacuum cleaner for your home from their huge assortment.
