Cholesterol in foods

Cholesterol can be harmful to health. It is important to consider the cholesterol content of foods.

Why is cholesterol considered harmful and hazardous to health? The fact is that with its increased content in the blood, cholesterol plaques are formed in the vessels, this leads to impaired blood circulation, blockage of the arteries (atherosclerosis) and is fraught with serious cardiovascular diseases. Much depends on the lifestyle and nutrition. Many Russians, alas, are sedentary and prefer foods high in saturated fat. Moreover, fast food has firmly established itself in our life, which, as a rule, contains harmful trans fats. Such nutrition has a negative impact not only on cholesterol levels, but, accordingly, on health in general.

And high cholesterol also has a strong effect on erectile function. The genital vessels of men are the thinnest in the body. Problems in bed in men, even at a young age (30-35 years old) – this is a bell to go not only to a urologist, but also to a therapist, to check cholesterol.

When it comes to foods high in cholesterol, there is no doubt that eggs, liver, shrimp and organ meats contain more cholesterol than vegetables and fruits.

However, this cholesterol has little or no effect on blood cholesterol levels. Foods rich in harmful saturated fats – sausages, sausages, fatty meats and lard, cakes and pastries – are much more harmful to health. They are the main source of “bad” cholesterol.

So, if you have high cholesterol, then we advise you to exclude from the diet:

1. Low quality butter, margarine

2. Mayonnaise

3. Cakes, pies (any confectionery products)

4. Smoked meats, in particular lard

5. Chicken yolk in large quantities (I recommend not to exclude it, but to eat 1 yolk in 2-3 days).

6. Fast food

7. Fried (any food prepared this way with a lot of vegetable oil)

These are the top 7 high cholesterol foods.

A small amount of cholesterol is necessary for good brain function, but I would recommend choosing quality foods without a lot of simple carbohydrates (they combine to increase bad cholesterol.

By consuming foods that are low in cholesterol and leading a healthy lifestyle, avoiding bad habits and exercising regularly, you can avoid the problem of high cholesterol. In addition, foods with unsaturated fat can lower cholesterol levels. These include marine fatty fish, olives, avocados, nuts and seeds, olive oil, flaxseed oil, and sunflower oil. Instead of frying, opt for oven-made, steamed, or boiled dishes. Fruits and vegetables also affect blood cholesterol by lowering it through fiber. Most of this fiber is found in apples, citrus fruits, carrots, plums, apricots, cabbage. In addition, proper rest and exercise designed to burn fat will help lower your cholesterol levels. Also, do not skip breakfast, but do not forget about the cholesterol content in food and instead of a not very healthy sausage sandwich, eat oatmeal with fruit. Oatmeal, along with fruit, contains fiber and is a wonderful helper in the fight against cholesterol.
