Chocolate: instructions for use

Chocolate is a great beauty product. The components included in its composition moisturize, heal, tone and nourish the skin.

Although chocolate does not solve our problems, it invariably helps to relax and cheer up. To use it inside is moderate, but for cosmetic purposes – without restrictions.

Many of us know from experience that chocolate is the best consolation in difficult times, a reliable assistant in the fight against sadness, stress and minor adversities. But it has more than just psychological benefits. “I don’t know a healthier dessert,” says nutritionist Anna Belousova. – Chocolate gives energy, saturates the body with a mass of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. There are as many antioxidants in one slice as there are in six apples or two glasses of red wine.” True, only bitter chocolate with a cocoa content of 70% or more has these advantages. In addition, for those who follow the figure, Anna Belousova recommends eating no more than two slices a day.

But chocolate can be used as a cosmetic product without restrictions. “Cocoa butter softens and nourishes the skin,” says dermatologist Ekaterina Faustova, owner of the clinic of the same name. – Vitamin B1, which is part of it, fights wrinkles, B2 improves blood circulation and speeds up metabolism. Caffeine tones, lecithin restores the protective functions of cells and stimulates renewal, tannins heal microcracks. For dry skin care, Ekaterina Faustova recommends a mask of melted dark chocolate with a tablespoon of oil (peach, coconut, avocado or jojoba). This nutrient mixture is good for hair too. “True, it’s not easy to wash it off even with shampoo,” warns Anastasia Rybakova, stylist of the Dry Bar Hair Dryer salon, and offers an alternative – Kydra Sweet Color chocolate wrap. “It gives the strands a natural shade of milk chocolate,” the master notes. On thoroughly washed hair, a composition is applied that, thanks to the high content of cocoa butter, looks and smells exactly like chocolate cake dough. In 20 minutes, the curls become soft, shiny and smell like chocolate. And we immediately feel: we have every reason for reasonable optimism …
