Chips are a delicious treat for the whole family. Making them at home is not difficult at all, and they will not contain artificial additives or preservatives. In just 20 minutes you can prepare this wonderful dish in a regular kitchen.

There are two recipes for making chips: deep-fried and in the oven. The first option is more familiar, the second is more useful.

To prepare a meal for 3 people you will need:

– potatoes, 5 medium sized tubers; – vegetable oil, 250 ml; – salt to taste; – spices.

Peel the vegetables and cut into slices. The thickness of each slice should not be more than 4 mm, this is a prerequisite to get a dish that looks like a store. To keep the pieces the same, use a slicing machine or a special grater.

Dip the potato slices in cold water. Let stand for 10 minutes. This will prevent the surface from darkening. Remove from water, let dry on a paper towel. It is necessary to remove excess liquid for the homemade chips to work out.

Heat the oil in a large skillet. You will need at least 100 ml, and sometimes more. In the hot mass, begin to lower the potatoes. To prevent the pieces from sticking together, cook in small portions.

Frying the chips takes 7-10 minutes. When the surface is browned and golden, then it’s time to take out the dish. It is better to do this with a slotted spoon so that excess oil flows back into the dish.

Remove the finished chips on paper towels. The excess oil will be absorbed and the potatoes will cool slightly. Season with salt and spices to taste. You can add a special flavor with bouillon cubes, which will help to recreate the aroma of garlic, mushrooms or meat.

Prepare potato slices. Put the cut slices in a cup, add vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly.

Start preheating the oven to 200 ° C, and at this time, lay food foil on the sheet.

Lay the potatoes in one layer on the foil. The excess oil should remain in the plate, not on the baking sheet.

Place the potatoes in a hot oven. Cook for 20 minutes. A sign that it’s time to take out will be the curling edges of the vegetable. The color of the pieces should turn golden.

Immediately after removing the homemade chips from the oven, sprinkle them with salt and spice mixture. You can even make a sweet version that will appeal to children. For the dish, you can prepare a special sauce that will make the potatoes even more spicy.
