Chinese instant noodles: harm or benefit? Video

Noodles made from flour or starch from various grains are a traditional Chinese dish. It is added to soup, served as a side dish for meat and vegetables, boiled or fried. Noodles are still the main source of carbohydrates in poor families in China.

These noodles are made with rice flour. In appearance, it should be almost transparent with a faint grayish tint. Good noodles should not stick together either dry or cooked. It is not necessary to boil it; it is enough to pour boiling water for half an hour.

Rice noodles contain almost all B vitamins, vitamin PP and a whole range of minerals. In addition, it is rich in complex carbohydrates, which, when broken down, provide the necessary energy to the muscles. Due to the lack of fiber, rice noodles are very easy to digest and can be considered a dietary meal for those suffering from gastrointestinal diseases. However, it should be borne in mind that this is a fairly high-calorie dish – 364 kcal / 100 g, so it should be used with caution if there is no desire to gain weight.

For the manufacture of this type of noodles, starch of legumes, cereals and root crops is used. When boiled, it remains transparent, therefore its other name is “glass noodles”.

Rice noodles are sometimes called “glass”. This is a mistake, because during cooking it loses its transparency and turns white.

Funchoza has a rather bland taste, and its benefits lie in a rich set of micro- and macroelements, as well as B vitamins. The most useful noodles are obtained from mung bean starch. To increase the benefits, unscrupulous manufacturers sometimes use corn starch in the manufacture of funchose – it is much cheaper, and its taste and consumer qualities are lower. To disguise the substitution, they bleach cornstarch with lead salts, which are poisonous to living organisms. Of course, such a product becomes truly harmful.

In Russia, instant noodles like Doshirak and Rollton are often called Chinese noodles. It is enough to pour boiling water over the contents of the package to get a ready-made dish, quite tasty and nutritious.

This noodle contains monosodium glutamate, which serves as both a preservative and a flavor enhancer. This food additive is suspected of being carcinogenic but has not been proven to be harmful. In Russia, it is approved for use in the meat, confectionery and canning industries.

The premium wheat flour from which the noodles are made is a source of fast carbohydrates and contains nothing but calories. The noodles contain palm oil, which contains polyunsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, tocotrienols and vitamin A. This is one of the cheapest vegetable oils, however, it is quite useful.

Against the background of controversy about the benefits and dangers of genetically modified products, the component “modified starch” can be frightening. However, the modification of starch implies its heat treatment until it is converted into glucose, which is a universal source of energy for living organisms.

The complex food additive “Premix”, which is a part of “Doshirak” and “Rollton”, is approved for consumption in Russia and contains stabilizers and flavor enhancers that do not have a harmful effect on the human body.

It makes sense to take into account the unfairness of individual manufacturers who may use toxic substances under the brand of approved stabilizers.

Kelp powder, dried onion, ginger powder, garlic powder will not do any harm. It should be noted the high calorie content of this noodle – 435 kcal / 100 g.
