Description of the rank

China belongs to the genus of herbs in the legume family. Herbaceous plants have rhizomes and tubers. The stems of most plant species are tetrahedral, often decumbent, tendrils clinging to a support, curly, sometimes erect. Leaves are single-pinnate, oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, with a tendril at the end. Flowers moth-shaped.

The inflorescence consists of one, sometimes two white, yellow, orange, blue-lilac, purple-violet, pink flowers. The fruit is a bean with two wings and contains angular, wedge-shaped seeds. 150 species of chin are common in the Northern Hemisphere, South America, Africa, the Mediterranean countries, the Far East and China.

Useful properties of rank

The rank contains ascorbic acid, carotene, flavonoids quercetin and kaempferol, protein, vitamin P, organic acids, alkaloids, leukoanthocyanins. Of the minerals in the roots and leaves, manganese, copper, iron, chromium, and aluminum are present. Grass in folk medicine is used as a softening, expectorant and anti-inflammatory agent. It transfers the biologically active substances phenols and arbutin to the human body.

Application of the rank

Medicinal types of rank are used in chronic bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis. A decoction of the roots of the rank is used for acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and the cardiovascular system, insomnia, thrombophlebitis and dyspepsia. It is used for hypovitaminosis, decreased immunity and colds.

Decoction from the rank: 1/10 or 1/15 of a teaspoon of crushed raw materials is brewed over low heat for 10 minutes in 1 cup of boiling water. Take 1 tablespoon every 2-3 hours.

With diarrhea and heart problems, they drink infusions, the recipes of which have come down to us from time immemorial.

Recipe № 1: brew 0,6-0,8 g per 200 ml of boiling water, take 1 tablespoon every 2-3 hours.

Among the people, an effective effect of chiny grass on tumors, leukocytosis, venereal diseases, and infectious hepatitis has been revealed. It is used for fever, tachycardia and insomnia.

Recipe No. 2: you need to take 10 g of chiny per 250 ml of boiling water, leave for 4 hours, strain, take a teaspoon inside in 2-3 hours.

Recipe № 3: 10 g of crushed roots should be poured with 200 ml of boiling water, insist 6 hours.

A chiny bean contains two to seven seeds. They have a four-sided shape. The color of their shell is yellow-white, gray or brown. Cotyledon yellow. Chin seeds can be of different sizes. According to its chemical composition, the seed of the chin consists of a large amount of protein, there is a small percentage of fat. Information about the reception for medicinal purposes is not available.

On a growing stem, 3-4 large flowers grow, depending on the variety, they come in different colors, all with a pleasant aroma. You can find bicolor plants. For the treatment of any diseases, flowers are practically not used.

China meadow

China meadow – a perennial herbaceous plant. Its rhizome is thin, long and sinuous. Stem hollow, strongly branched. The leaves are located on petioles, alternate, lanceolate, with a tendril at the tip. The flowers are yellow, of an original form, similar to acacia flowers, make up one-sided brushes. Black fruits-beans – oblong shape. Some sources contain information that the native habitats of grass are the south of Siberia, from where it spread to the Mediterranean regions. Today, other places where the plant grows are also known: this is the territory of Europe, northern Africa, western and central Asia. Mongolia, China, North America and the Japanese islands are also inhabited by meadow rank.

Chine broad-leaved

Broad-leaved chin is a perennial pea, a beautiful climbing plant. It grows in the wild nature of the Crimea, the Mediterranean, in the west of Europe. This species can be perfectly cultivated in the north-west of Russia. In the gardens, gardeners grow plants with white, purple and pink flowers. The broad-leaved chin has a powerful taproot that grows deep into the soil and forms multituber adventitious roots.

Numerous, branching, broad-winged stems, clinging to supports with leaf tendrils, twist, climbing high, and spread along the ground in the absence of support. In cultivated forms, flowers are collected in dense brushes.

China tuberous

A perennial herbaceous plant, the tuberous chin from the legume family has a thin rhizome with brown edible tubers. The stem of the plant is erect, multifaceted. The leaves are paired, with oblong, elliptical leaflets. The flowers are dark pink, collected in a racemose inflorescence. During flowering, the plant exudes a pleasant fragrant smell. Fruits – beans, linear, cylindrical brown.

The habitats of this species are steppe slopes, meadows, forest edges, glades in the forest-steppe zone. The healing properties of the plant have not been fully studied, the presence of fat and protein has been revealed. Tuberous rank is used for diarrhea. Tubers boiled in salt water are quite edible.

Contraindications to the use of rank

As a medicine, meadow rank is used only in folk medicine. With reasonable use, side effects are not observed, although it is known that an overdose can cause nervous disorders.
