Chill (“Stuza”)

Stuza is a premium class vodka, which contains only natural ingredients, including those collected in ecologically clean corners of the country and manually processed herbs from Karelia and Transbaikalia. The Stuza product line is represented not only by vodka, but also by tinctures.

Historical reference. The construction of the Moscow State Warehouse No. 1 on the banks of the Yauza in 1901 is directly related to the activities of the Russian Minister of Finance Sergei Witte, who introduced a state monopoly on alcohol.

The capacity of the built plant made it possible to produce 2,5 million decaliters of wine per year, which at that time was an unprecedented volume. The enterprise, which employed one and a half thousand people, produced 3 types of vodka: “boyar” – for the nobility, “simple” and “improved”. The demand for a quality product was so great that instead of the planned six hundred thousand decaliters of vodka per year, they decided to produce 900.

And by 1914, the assortment was expanded, they began to produce the famous Moscow Special, Gorilka, and Casserole developed by Dmitry Mendeleev. On the eve of the First World War, the production of vodka was stopped, but the company produced medical and dry alcohol for the needs of the army, as well as medicines based on alcohol.

During the October events of 1917, the government of the young republic supported the ban on alcoholic beverages, which was canceled only in 1923. Almost immediately, the company produced vodka called “Rykovka”, in honor of the Minister of Economy of that time.

During the Second World War, the plant again produced alcohol for the front, medicines, and even bottled the Molotov cocktail. And immediately after the war, they produced drinks for the Moscow elite: each bottle was accompanied by a certificate with the signatures of the workers involved in the production.

In 1953, this plant produced the legendary Stolichnaya, and half a century later, Putinka.

The plant received the name “Crystal” in 1987, and after another 5 years it became an open joint-stock company.
