Children’s room design project

There is such an unwritten law: children’s rooms require the greatest hassle in the arrangement. As a rule, the area of these premises is small. But on it it is necessary to organize three functional zones at once: for study, games and recreation. Therefore, it is not bad if you have objects to follow before your eyes. They may well be children’s interiors, invented by our designers.

Children’s room No. 1. Visiting a fairy tale

Children’s room design project

  • Stool “Mammut” (IKEA, Sweden), 299 rubles. Chair “Mammut” (IKEA), 699 rubles. Bear (France), 890 rubles, “Red Cube”. Pine tabletop 590 rubles, OBI. Chest of drawers “Malm” (IKEA), 1990 rubles. Pillow Central Park from the Manhattan collection (Designers Guild, Great Britain), 3942 rubles, “Interia”. Pillow Hampstead Heath Apple from the collection of Primrose Hills (Designers Guild), 4818 RUB., “Interia”. Pillow Pond Street Turquoise from the Primrose Hills collection (Designers Guild), 4818 rubles, “Interia”. Plaid Santuzza Ocean from the Arabella collection (Designers Guild), 8322 rubles, “Interia”.

Just thinking about the project of this nursery, the designer decided to use bright colors to the maximum. After all, a small child’s room should look like a fairy tale! Therefore, one wall was completely painted in a rich apple color, and the other two were “lined”, diluting the active green stripes with neutral white ones. The fourth wall (the one with the window) was covered with white paint. A little more of this color was brought in with the help of furniture. A fairy tale is a fairy tale, but an excess of bright colors can tire a child. Well, in the “companions” of the white setting, they took blue furniture and decor.

Since it is always more fun with friends, the designer “populated” the nursery with fairy-tale characters. Flowers appeared over the chest of drawers and even on it (they were made from self-adhesive paper), above the work table and next to it – soft toys. And of course, the dream of every girl has come true – now the room is living, even if made of wood, but still a real obedient pony!

  • This the chest of drawers looks like a book with fairy tales… It is necessary to open the door-cover, and before us there will be … stories, each of which is stored in a separate box. So far there are only toys. But soon one of them will be filled with the pictures of the hostess herself. After all, she is already attending the preparatory group of a kindergarten! Decorative box, 2160 rubles, “Eurodom”.
  • Children love to play on the floor, so there is no better covering than carpet. The only condition: the material should not be too light and fleecy, otherwise it will quickly lose its attractiveness. By the way, the play area can be further emphasized with a small rug in a contrasting color. Author’s doll from Takiyaje (Russia), 14 rubles, “Eurodom”. Toy “Horse”, 200 11 rubles, “Eurodom”.
  • Watch 1390 rubles, “Red Cube”. Decorative flowers (IKEA), 500 rubles.
  • Printed textiles can add elements of play to the interior of the nursery. For example, a funny shark can “settle” on the canopy of the bed. And for pillows, covers with images of fabulous trees or houses are suitable. Devil (France), 980 rubles, “Red Cube”. Pendant lamp “Melody” (IKEA), 599 rubles. Fabric “Legend” (IKEA), 199 rubles / m. Picking up Mandola Moss from the Orsetti collection (Designers Guild), 5694 rubles, “Interia”. Pillow Chawton Acacia from the Adelphi collection (Designers Guild), 3942 rubles, “Interia”. Bear (China) 640 rubles, “Red Cube”. Plaid (Portugal), 2000 rubles, “Eurodom”.

The inhabitant of this room is a primary school student. And therefore, when planning the premises, the designer focused not on the decorative component, but on the rational organization of the space. And since the area did not allow the use of partitions, the necessary functional areas were organized due to the thoughtful arrangement of furniture. So, the workspace, which includes a desk and a rack with two roll-out drawers, is located near the window. A narrow but long bed was placed opposite – it will fit the child for another two or three years. In order not to clutter up an already small room, the designer opted for hanging shelves. They were placed under the ceiling almost around the entire perimeter of the room. And, it should be noted, they cope with the problem of storing things – books, toys and handicrafts – no worse than oversized cabinets.

  • The walls in the nursery were simply painted so that, if desired or necessary, their color, and with it the mood, it was not difficult to change… In the meantime, various souvenirs and decor items help to make the room a little brighter. Plaid (Gant), 6830 rubles., “Eurodom”. Ceramic fish (Boru Collection), 340 rubles, “Red Cube”. Ceramic fish (Boru Collection), 520 rubles, “Red Cube”. Decorative shell (Boru Collection), 680 rubles, “Red Cube”. Bed frame “Dalselv” (IKEA), 1490 rubles. Sultan flatoker mattress (IKEA), 3690 rubles. Slatted bottom “Sultan Luroy” (IKEA), 650 rubles. Soft toy “Bear” (Bonne Fête), 420 rubles, “Red Cube”. Watch (Momento, Italy), 1350 rubles, “Red Cube”.
  • Unica Chameleon (Schneider Electric, France): socket with grounding contact and shutters, 175 rubles; computer socket, 510 rubles; frame for two posts, 345 rubles.
  • There are many accessories in the children’s room marine subjects… They remind the child of a wonderful summer vacation spent on the warm sea. So, they found a place for the shell and the starfish on the top of the rack, and they decorated the wall near the bed with figurines of fish.
  • Since the situation will change as the child grows up, they chose a simple in design, inexpensive furniture made of natural pine. Moreover, each item is fully consistent with its functional purpose, whether it is rest or storage of things.

Thinking over the layout of the room and choosing furniture, the designer proceeded from the basic needs of a teenager. The main attention is paid to the working area – after all, study plays a primary role in the life of a high school student. A large corner tabletop allows you to work not only with a laptop, but also with books and notebooks. And a chair on wheels with adjustable back and seat provides the necessary comfort. A lot of ingenuity was shown when organizing a berth. It is raised about a meter above the floor. A roll-out step helps to get to the second floor. By the way, it also has other functions: it can serve as both a sofa and a second bed. Another interestingly furnished area is a mini-living room. Both the sofa step and soft frameless pouf… This means that guests will always have a place to stay.

  • The designer paid special attention to the organization of storage spaces and implemented several original techniques. So, a white plastic “tree” not only decorates the room, but also allows you to hang personal items on its branches, say, bags. And behind the colored elastic bands stretched over the foot of the bed, you can store anything at all, from magazines to a pair of your favorite shoes. Sticker (Decorissimo, Russia), 950 rubles. Photo frame (Zara Home), 999 rubles. Suspen watch (Diamantini & Domeniconi, Italy), 6840 rub., Design Boom. Table (Diamantini & Domeniconi), 7900 rubles, Design Boom.
  • Bright stripes on one of the walls create a positive atmosphere in the room and also visually expand the space. Both of these aspects are very important. There is always a place for fun in a teenager’s life, and extra centimeters, even if illusory, are never superfluous. Musical photo frame (Belgium), 1435 rubles, “Brussels tricks”. Lamp Topolina (Marset), 3950 rubles, Design Boom. Toy “Bear” (Belgium), 3496 rubles, “Brussels tricks”.
  • The multifunctionality of the module under the bed is provided by the castors. If we push it slightly, we get a step. We will roll out to a greater distance – we have a sofa or even a second bed at our service. Fleece blanket, 2470 rubles, “Eurodom”.
  • Despite the small area, the makeshift living room is full of hospitality. It is nice to listen to music, watch a movie, go through a couple of levels on a game console, and just chat with friends. DVD-player TS200 (LG Electronics, Korea), 4390 rubles. LCD TV LU4000 (LG Electronics), 15 rubles.
