Child’s weight by month: table for boys, WHO recommendations
The weight of a child under one year old can tell a lot about his development. WHO experts give recommendations on which the correct height and weight is determined. Deviation from these standards gives the doctor a reason to find out what is wrong with the baby and if there are any pathologies.
Baby weight table by month for boys
To determine the correct development and compliance with the norms, birth weight is taken into account, as well as the fact whether the baby was full-term or not. These standards have lower and upper limits of the norm, that is, if the child’s weight deviates to a greater or lesser extent within acceptable limits, then this is not considered a pathology, but rather an individual feature.
The following monthly indicators are considered standard:
- The weight of 3900-5100g is considered acceptable in one month. The average value is 4500 g.
- The lower limit is 4900 g, the upper one is 6300 g. The usual weight at this age is 5600 g.
- Normal weight is in the range of 5700-7200 g.
- The average weight of a four-month-old child is 7000 g. Extreme indicators are from 6300 to 7800 g.
- Norm – 7500 g. Upper and lower boundaries – 6700-8400 g.
- At six months, the baby weighs from 7100 to 8900 g.
- A good indicator is 8300 g. The limits of the norm are 7400 and 9300 g.
- By standards, a child should weigh 8600 g. The extreme values are 7700 and 9600 g.
- The average weight of a healthy child at this age is 8900 g. There is also no cause for concern if the indicators are in the range of 8000-9900 g.
- The norm is 9200 g. The lower limit is 8200 g, the upper one is 10200 g.
- The weight is not alarming from 8400 to 10500 g.
- Most often, a child weighs 9700 g per year, indicators in the range of 8700-10800 are considered normal.
In the event of a greater deviation from the standards, the pediatrician must find the cause of the deviation and prescribe treatment. Most likely it will be stationary. A newborn from 0 to 1 month weighs normally from 2900 to 3900 g. An excellent value is 3300 g.
Weight measurement features
You can find out how much the baby has added not only at the appointment with the pediatrician, but also on your own at home. This requires electronic scales of a special shape, where you can put an infant.
It is weighed in a lying position without clothes, a diaper should be placed on the surface of the bowl. Then subtract its weight from the result.
The procedure is best done in the morning, when the child has emptied the bowels and bladder.
When the child learns to sit, he can be put on the scales. But make sure that it is strictly in the middle, otherwise the indicators may be incorrect.
