Chihuahua Saved Man Even When He Joked About Such Dogs

Even the biggest giants have their weaknesses. Only sometimes you need someone to help them realize it.

Bobby Humphies was the kind of guy who doesn’t represent the tiny dog next to him. The Maryland bodybuilder preferred to spend all his time in the gym and hang out with the tough guys. And such, instead of “crumbs”, it is better to have a frightening pet. A pit bull, for example, or a Rottweiler. Humphreys admired the regal and imposing appearance of these breeds.

“I laughed at my friends who had small dogs. Especially when they carried “their girls” in their arms. But looking back, I understand that it was very ridiculous of me, “- admitted Bobby.

Hamphiz’s relationship with small dogs was changed by an unexpected turn of events. On the eve of 2016, his wife left him, after he injured his shoulder in the gym, and had to forget about hard training for a while.

Left alone without a loved one and hobby, the man fell into a deep depression. “I am a very sensitive person, and my wife was my world. Then I was lost and started drinking, ”explained Humphries.

While Humphries’ hand healed, he tried to put his life in order, but depression was a powerful enemy. It seemed that there was no way out. Until Constance Rogers, Bobby’s longtime friend, asked him to look after her Chihuahua named Lady.

At first, neither Hamphis nor Lady were encouraged by the acquaintance. The giant simply did not know what to do with this little dog, and she was famous for her fighting character and did not intend to immediately let the stranger close to her.

“This dog hated absolutely everyone. She bit so that no one could approach her. But after an hour and a half of our communication, we became inseparable. The lady gave me back my self-respect and dignity. She gave me confidence that I was not such a bad person, ”said Hamfiz. Later, the man admits that there were moments when he could not get out of bed, and only the time spent with Lady somehow returned his taste for life.

Humphries knew that Lady would not be able to stay with him forever, so he started looking for his own pet. It was a one-year-old Chihuahua named Kira. Then Harley and her sister Quinn appeared.

“I found Harley when she was only six weeks old,” Bobby recalls. “She reminded me of the lady so much that I simply had to get her. When I arrived to pick up Queenie, the breeder’s daughter let it slip that Harley and Quinn were the result of improper breeding. They would have been disposed of if no one had taken them. So I had to do it. “

Soon enough, people began to turn to him, asking for help. “Somewhere dogs were used as bait, somewhere they were found tied to the roadside or with an extension cord around their necks. The more I saved the poor, the more I hated society. ”

These horrific incidents only fueled Bobby’s motivation. “I made a promise to each of them that they will never be abused and will not experience pain from unrequited love.”

This is how the formidable man found his calling. Now he takes dogs that no one needs anymore and admires their features.
