Chicory for health and beauty

Chicory is a vegetable very rich in minerals and vitamins. It is a good source of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese, beta-carotene, vitamin C and B vitamins. Thanks to this, eating chicory strengthens immunity, prevents colds, strengthens hair and nails and improves the appearance of the skin. This vegetable should be eaten by both future mothers (because it contains a lot of folic acid, which prevents the development of malformations in the fetus) and nursing mothers (it stimulates food production).

Chicory for weight loss

Chicory, like most vegetables, is low in calories, because 100 g contains only 21 kcal. However, this is not its main advantage when it is included in slimming diets. The action of chicory is as follows: – improving metabolism – stimulating the secretion of gastric juices and bile – reducing the absorption of fats from food All this makes the chicory easier to digest, and the dishes containing it do not stay in the stomach for so long. Moreover, limiting fat absorption translates into the amount of kilocalories supplied to the body. Chicory can also help with flatulence – it contains inulin, which stimulates the growth of good bacteria in the gut.
