The principle of operation of the chest is no different from a conventional refrigerator. The compressor is activated by a start relay and creates pressure to move the refrigerant. The latter passes through the evaporator and filter, passing into a gaseous state and cooling the system. The presence of fans allows you to disperse the flow through the compartment, so it is extremely rare to defrost such models.
A sealant is used as thermal insulation. It allows you to keep the set temperature longer.
The chest is located horizontally, the lid can open up or move to the side.

The body height reaches an average of 75-85 cm, capacity – from 100 to 800 liters. For two or three people, a volume of 150-200 liters will be enough, while for a family of 4-5 people – 300-400 liters.
Some models are equipped with additional functionality and are able to maintain the temperature for up to 72 hours during a power outage.

How to install and set up a chest freezer

In the instructions, the label indicates the climate class – a combination of Latin letters. Each of them indicates the level of heat at which the device can be operated.
- SN – subnormal – from +10 to +32 degrees.
- N – normal – from + 16 ° С to + 32 ° С.
- ST – subtropics – + 16-38 degrees.
- T – tropics – + 16-43 degrees.

Installation principles
Do you want your equipment to last as long as possible? Stick to these rules:
- Do not embed the device in furniture, it is designed for separate placement.
- The case should stand on a flat surface, not stagger.
- Between the walls of the chest and other objects there should be a distance of 15 cm for normal ventilation.
- Installation is carried out away from heating objects, furnaces. Avoid exposure to sunlight.
- The connection is made to a separate grounded socket.
- If you want to connect to a generator, remember that its power should be 2-3 times higher than the consumption of the chest.
- After switching on, wait 2-3 hours before loading food into the chamber.
Features of operation
What temperature is set in the department? It all depends on the strength and speed of freezing. The device is equipped with one thermostat, which is most often located in the lower right corner. This is a rotary switch or wheel that needs to be set to the desired position. The temperature sensor will maintain the set value.
Position 1 means the lowest mark. Position 4 is recommended for home use. Mode 6 means Super Freeze – will be on until you turn it off manually.
Nearby are indicator lamps:
- Green indicates stable operation.
- Red – the compressor is working to reach the specified temperature. As soon as the task is completed, the lamp will turn off.
The red light can be lit by the room temperature, the frequency and duration of the lid opening.
- Yellow – the temperature has risen above -6 degrees.
Things to consider:
- When the regulator is switched to the OFF position, freezing stops, but the appliance does not turn off the power supply.
- Overloading the compartment reduces the degree of cooling of the products.
- If you need to set a different temperature, turn the knob gradually, one notch at a time. So the technique will have time to stabilize.
How to unfreeze appliances
When the frost on the walls reaches 5-10 mm, the chest needs to be defrosted. Before disassembling the contents of the chamber, one day before defrosting, set the regulator to the maximum value. This will keep food longer without refrigeration. Then:
- Disconnect the device from the mains.
- Remove all food from the compartment.
- Open the lid wide open.
- Wait for the camera to thaw. This usually takes about a day.
Some models have a stopper for draining melt water.
- Wash the walls and containers. Wipe the surfaces with a dry cloth.
- Connect the device to the network. Wait a few hours for the chamber to warm up. Download products.
Care and cleaning
You can wash the compartments both during installation and during operation.
- Turn off cooling at the regulator.
- Pull the plug out of the socket.
- Wash the walls with a sponge soaked in a solution of soda. Wash baskets and containers.
- Wipe the seal thoroughly. It must be kept clean to avoid mold.
- The outer walls and the lid can be washed with liquid detergent.
- Wipe dry all surfaces.
