Cherry Vocation: description and features of the variety

The most popular fruit and berry crops, in addition to plums and apple trees, can be safely attributed to cherry – a tree that can exist on almost any soil and in different climatic conditions. Cherry varieties are quite diverse, and gardeners have to choose which one to plant on their site. One great option is the Vocation cherry.

Description

Cherry variety Vocation, which also has the names Rosinka or Samsonovka Melitopol Dessert, was bred by specialists of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Irrigated Horticulture in the city of Melitopol. N.I. is considered its author. Turovtsev.

This is an early medium cherry variety, which is a low tree, reaching a height of no more than two and a half meters. It has a dense and round crown.

Grafted young trees begin to produce crops three years after planting.

The fruits of the Vocation variety have a beautiful dark red color, are large enough, their shape is flat-round, and their weight can reach 5 grams. They have a delicious juicy middle, the juice in the fruits is always red. The fruits contain dry matter in the proportion of 6%, as well as acids – approximately 16% and sugars – 48%. Ripening time falls on the period from 0 to 96 June. Inside the fruit, an oval-shaped bone is easily separated from the pulp. The fruits have a rich sweet and sour taste and received a tasting score of 10 points.

Features

Flowering falls at the beginning of May. The variety is universal, every year from a tree that is already 10 years old, you can collect up to 28 kg of fruit. The variety is self-infertile, therefore it is pollinated with the help of others. It has good winter hardiness, easily tolerates frosts and temperature changes, only flower buds can partially suffer. It has excellent immunity in order to withstand dangerous infections – coccomycosis, moniliosis, hawthorn mites. With proper care, every season you can expect a rich harvest of fruits.
