It has its own distinctive features, as well as a lot of obvious advantages and some disadvantages. What does this beautiful garden tree look like, and what can those who decide to plant such a cherry on their site expect from it?

If we talk about the Nadezhda cherry variety, then it appeared thanks to the work of specialists from the Rossosh Experimental Horticulture Station named after. AND I. Voronchikhina, where the pollination of an excellent variety of cherries, called Griot Ostheimsky, was carried out by a combination of pollen from two excellent varieties of cherries – Liquor and Northern. The newly appeared fruit tree variety was taken in 1995 for a special state test of the qualities and properties of culture in the Central Black Earth Territory.
Tree
This fruit tree is large and can reach a height of about 6 meters. It has a beautiful dense crown, which has a certain pyramidal shape. On the trunk, the bark is clearly visible, which has a characteristic dark gray or black-gray color, there are separate cracks on the trunk. If we talk about lentils, then in this cherry they are rather narrow, they can be both small and large.
Young trees are distinguished by longitudinal cracks on the surface of the trunk, while the old bark is gray, and the young one is born silvery with a brown tint. The cherry variety with the beautiful name Nadezhda has greenish-brown shoots, their number is quite large, and convex glands can be seen on the surface. Vegetative buds are large, ovoid, somewhat oblong, can reach a length of about 6 mm, have a sharp protruding apex. Generative buds are similar to vegetative buds, their shape is the same, only they are slightly smaller in size. They differ from vegetative ones in their rounded top.
The width of the leaf plate can be approximately 4 – 6 cm if the shoots are about a year old, and they reach 10 cm in length. The shape of the plate can vary in a wide range – from oval to ovoid. The serration of the leaves is double-toothed, more often the plates are matte, less often they have a certain sheen and a characteristic green color. The petiole of this variety of cherry is very short, bare from below, and has a small edge on top, can be up to 20 mm in size. It has an interesting pinkish anthocyanin coloration.
The flowers of this fruit tree are large, at least two of them appear in each inflorescence, they have a beautiful white color, and at the end of the flowering period they are also interspersed with pink spots. 
The shape of the flower can be both cup-shaped and almost flat, in diameter it reaches up to 40 mm. The petals of this variety of cherry flowers are not closed, they resemble a spoon in shape, the length of the stamens can be about 12 mm, and the pistil with the ovary grows up to 15 mm. The calyx has a tube shaped like a bell, and the sepals have small teeth, their shape is almost entire.
An interesting fact is that at the end of flowering, the tubes of the cups of a tree of this variety are slightly bent from the base and almost lose their original color.
The flowering period of this beautiful cherry variety falls on early dates, since the tree itself is fruitless, it is pollinated by varieties such as Lada, Black Large, Kentskaya.

The description of the fruits of this excellent zoned cherry variety has its own characteristics. If we talk about the size of the berries, they grow quite large and can have a weight of about 5 to almost 8 g, while their width is about 6 mm, the height indicator is 24 mm, and the fruit can form up to 20 mm thick. The fruits of Hope have a dark red skin color, and are most often round in shape. According to the biochemical composition, such indicators can be named – the presence of sugars in fruits up to about 23%, dry soluble substances – up to 14%, 16% coloring and tannins, as well as about 2% titratable acids.
The pulp of the fruit during the tasting by experts was highly rated 4 points. It is characterized by a dark red color, the taste of the berry is not tart, it has a pleasant sourness and aroma. If we talk about the stalk, then it is thick, the length is about 5 mm, it helps to separate the berry well. Inside the fruit, a small round-shaped stone is found, the base of which is slightly oblique, not very well separated from the pulp of the fruit, and has a standard brown color. In the course of a series of studies and tastings by competent persons, the technological qualities of the fruits were checked, which received 40 points for appearance, 4 for taste, and compotes were rated at 6 points.
Garden trees enter the fruiting period only 4 years after planting, but at the same time, the fruits on them ripen in the middle time frame, and the harvest pleases with abundance. In the south of the Central Black Earth region, this cherry variety yields in late June – early July. The average yield for four years here was 16 kg per tree. And in 4, some trees, which are already 2005 years old, gave 15 kg of fruit.
Advantages and disadvantages of Cherry Hope
Cherry orchards appeared on the territory of Our Country during the reign of Yuri Dolgoruky, and now these wonderful trees can be seen in every garden plot. Cherry fruits are used both fresh and dried, frozen, as well as for the manufacture of compotes, jams, desserts. In terms of benefits, only strawberries can be compared with cherries, since cherries contain a lot of useful for the body, micro and macro elements, as well as vitamins. And what are the advantages of the Nadezhda cherry variety in particular?

It has no obvious shortcomings, only one can be attributed to them – with its rather high growth, the Nadezhda cherry makes the procedure for caring for it and harvesting it somewhat burdensome.
