However, the store assortment often does not meet our ideas about the cost or quality of a given alcohol (and sometimes both at the same time). In this case, the only way out is to find out how to make cherry liqueur at home and immediately translate the newfound knowledge into the required number of bottles of the aromatic drink.

Homemade cherry liqueur

The recipe for this drink does not involve the use of sugar syrup, which will make it less laborious and at the same time quite picky.

List of ingredients

  1. Fresh or frozen cherries – 225 g

  2. Granulated sugar – 225 g

  3. Vodka or brandy or cognac – 480 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Wash fresh or thawed berries, separate the cuttings and cut from the top down to the bone.

  2. Then put them in a liter jar, cover with sugar and pour alcohol (accordingly, if you, for example, decide to make a drink in a 3-liter jar, you should triple the amount of all the above components).

  3. After that, the jar should be closed with a tight lid and placed in a dark place for three months.

  4. At the final stage, the drink is carefully filtered through thick cheesecloth and finally bottled.

Cherry liqueur on vodka with pink pepper

If you like savory drinks, you can add a few peas of pink pepper to the previous recipe made on vodka immediately before infusion (if the proportions are designed for a three-liter container, the amount of pepper can be brought to a teaspoon).

Cherry liqueur on alcohol

According to many connoisseurs of the genre, high-quality food alcohol is the most suitable alcohol base for cherries.

List of ingredients

  1. Fresh or frozen cherries – 1 kg

  2. Granulated sugar – 1 kg

  3. Water – 500 ml

  4. Alcohol – 1 l

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse the cherries, separate from the cuttings, mash and place in a three-liter jar without a stone.

  2. Crush about half of the existing cherry pits, add to the berries and pour with alcohol.

  3. Close the container and put in a dark, cool place for three weeks.

  4. After the expiration of the mentioned period, filter the contents of the jar through thick gauze and mix with chilled sugar syrup.

  5. Bottle the resulting liquid and return to a dark place for two to three months for final ripening.

Cherry liqueur on moonshine

In principle, other alcohol bases will work for this recipe (from food alcohol to numerous varieties of brandy), but the general consensus is that homemade grain distillate gives it a special identity.

List of ingredients

  1. Picked cherry – 500-600 g

  2. Granulated sugar – 1 kg

  3. Water – 1 L

  4. Moonshine (40-45 degrees) – 2 l

  5. Citric acid – 0,5 tsp.

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the cherries, remove the pits and throw them into a pot of water.

  2. Boil and hold for a quarter of an hour over low heat.

  3. Then the contents of the pan need to cool, filter the liquid and add sugar to it.

  4. Put it back on the fire and stir until the granulated sugar is completely dissolved, remembering to remove the foam (if you prefer sweeter drinks, you can increase the amount of sugar up to two kg).

  5. After that, the resulting syrup is cooled again, mixed with moonshine and citric acid.

  6. Further, the drink is bottled and aged in a cool dark place from three months to one year (in this case, your endurance and self-control will be the decisive factor).

Old world cherry liqueur on vodka and cognac

  1. Cherries – 600 g

  2. Brandy or cognac – 480 ml

  3. Vodka – 240 ml

  4. Powdered sugar – 2 tbsp. l.

  5. Sugar syrup – 120 ml

  6. Zest – 1/2 lemon

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the berries and remove the cuttings. Cut half of the cherries from the top down to the pit, prick the other half with a toothpick (5-6 punctures per berry).

  2. Transfer all the cherries to a liter jar, add powdered sugar there and wait for it to dissolve.

  3. Next, shake the jar, add all the alcohol and lemon zest there.

  4. After that, for a month and a half, hold the closed container in a dark, warm place.

  5. Then filter the liquid, squeeze the cherries into it through thick cheesecloth and add chilled sugar syrup.

  6. The resulting substance is thoroughly mixed, bottled and sent for one to two weeks in a cool dark place.

Quick cherry liqueur

An active tasting of this not quite traditional version of a cherry drink can be started immediately after its preparation. However, if you’re looking for a really tasty homemade cherry liqueur, we highly recommend keeping the heat low and letting the drink rest for at least a few months.

  1. Picked cherry – 50 pcs.

  2. Cherry leaves – 200 pcs.

  3. Granulated sugar – 1,5 kg

  4. Vodka – 1 l

  5. Water – 1 L

  6. Citric acid – 1,5 tsp.

Method of preparation

This drink is prepared in the same way as the moonshine version, but there are a number of differences. Firstly: the berries are boiled together with the washed leaves, and secondly: citric acid is added to the substance during the dissolution of sugar.

It should also be noted that the number of cherries indicated in the recipe can be replaced by a kilogram of any other berry. For example, chokeberry liqueur with cherry leaves is very popular. Although, as we have already said, cherry leaves are a spicy and healthy addition not only to drinks made from cherries or chokeberries themselves.

Cherry pit liqueur recipe

Ingredients

  1. Cherry pits – 10 pcs.

  2. Vanilla stick – 1/2 pc.

  3. Sugars – 250 g

  4. Water – 100 ml

  5. Rum – 300 ml

  6. Red dry wine – 500 ml

  7. Dry white wine – 100 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Crush cherry pits, pour into a bottle, pour rum, white and red wine.

  2. Prepare sugar syrup, add half a vanilla stick to it and pour everything into a bottle with other ingredients.

  3. Put the bottle, sealed with a rubber stopper, in a dark place for 6 weeks and shake it every 2 days. Then strain and bottle.

Spicy cherry liqueur

Ingredients

  1. Cherry – 2 kg

  2. Sugar – 1 kg

  3. Carnation – 6-7 buds

  4. Vanilla sugar – 2 sachets

  5. Cinnamon, nutmeg – to taste (start with a pinch)

  6. Fresh cherry leaves – 6 pcs.

  7. Vodka – 750 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse ripe cherries, remove stems and seeds.

  2. Pour the peeled cherries into a wide-mouth bottle or jar and cover with sugar.

  3. Add cherry leaves, cloves, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste and shake.

  4. Keep the bottle in the sun for 8-10 days, shaking daily, then add strong vodka and put in a dark place.

  5. After 4–5 weeks, strain the liquor and bottle it.

Cherry and fig liqueur

Ingredients

  1. Cherry – 2 kg

  2. Figs – 3 kg

  3. Sugars – 500 g

  4. Cinnamon – 1 tbsp l.

  5. Orange – 1 pcs.

  6. Lemon – 1 pcs.

  7. Almonds – 20 g

  8. Carnation bud – 3 pcs.

  9. Vodka – 2 l

Method of preparation

Do not forget that imported orange and lemon are waxed, so you need to steam citrus fruits and then dry them thoroughly with a clean towel or dry napkins.

  1. Rinse cherries and figs, pour into an eight-liter jar, add cinnamon, cloves, lemon and orange zest, sugar and chopped almonds.

  2. Mix well and put in the sun for 1,5 months.

  3. Then strain, mix with vodka, bottle and cork.
