With the motto “the taste is ours”, the Ministry of Agriculture celebrates during the days, May 26 to 31 of the same month, the thematic week of the cheese of our country.
The initiative seeks to promote the consumption of this dairy derivative, as well as expand knowledge about it.
To achieve this, a series of activities have been developed that will bring its preparation and tasting to the entire population through supermarkets and restaurants.
An act will be held for the presentation of the electronic catalog of cheeses in the La Paz market in Madrid, where Ismael Diaz Yubero, a member of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, will give advice on the purchase, presentation and pairing of cheese , all accompanied by a guided tasting.
There will be a visit to a dairy industry (Lácteas del Jarama, in Fuente del Saz), and parallel activities will be developed with talks on cheese as a food integrated into the Mediterranean diet, along with workshops related to its preparation for primary school students in the “Guadarrama River Nursery School”From Navalcarnero.
The campaign will be carried out in different cities such as Madrid, Cáceres, Cuenca, Teruel and Valladolid, carrying out promotional actions that will be aimed not only at the media, but also at schoolchildren, hospitality professionals and also final consumers.
As a culmination of the campaign, a popular cheese tasting will be held in Madrid’s Plaza Mayor on the 31st at 13:00 p.m., where all the public, adults and children will be able to participate in all the activities that will surround the event.

Different actions will be carried out within the ministry’s social media profiles, Facebook: Magramagob ; Twitter, @Alimentacion_es, providing them with content related to the campaigns started to promote consumption and learning about cheese.
The rest of the actions are part of communication and advertising campaigns through restaurant and gastronomy portals (Atrápalo, with much gluttony, gastronomy and co, etc.) as well as reservation centers.
