Cheese chips: a beer snack in 15 minutes

Standard snacks for beer from the nearest supermarket not only do not differ in particularly refined taste, but are also not very healthy. However, it’s not so easy to give up your favorite crispy chips, but you can replace them with more natural, and, moreover, delicious cheese chips. It was quite difficult for housewives of past decades to learn how to cook chips at home, with the era of the Internet, the situation is drastically changed =)

The recipe for cheese chips is very simple, making them at home is not difficult, and with a sufficient amount of imagination, you can diversify this snack with additional products, for example, ham, a mixture of herbs and seasonings, flax and sesame seeds, greens, etc.

You can choose almost any of the hard varieties of cheese. Many people advise using Parmesan, but you can experiment and mix several types of cheeses. If fillings are used, then they can either be laid out on top (ham, mushrooms, etc.), or mixed with the main cheese mass (this applies to spices, ground seeds, greens).

Almost all recipes for cheese chips

1. Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater (in this case, there may be options: you can cut into very thin slices, make cheese chips, etc.).

 2. Next, there are several options where grated cheese is laid out in a thin layer:

  • on a baking sheet covered with baking paper or a special heat-resistant silicone mat;
  • on the dry surface of a heated non-stick frying pan (in this case, just fry the cheese over medium heat until a beautiful golden surface forms);
  • on a dry baking sheet.

Cheese can be laid out in circles, squares, rectangles, etc.

Important! You do not need to use oil for frying, as a sufficient amount of fat is released from the cheese during heating.

3. After that, put the baking sheet in a preheated oven (in various recipes, different degrees of heating are indicated from 160 to 200 or more degrees).

4. Keep the chips in the oven until golden brown (usually 5-7 minutes), then immediately remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cheese cool. After that, carefully remove the resulting cheese chips with a spatula.

5. Homemade cheese chips can be served with various sauces, preferably white. Enjoy the chips with a cold delicious beer!

The chef regulates the saturation of the taste of cheese chips himself (with the help of salt, spices and the taste of cheese), so you can use them with almost any beer.
