Bar charts are used to visually compare values across multiple categories by representing them as vertical lines.
To create a histogram, follow these steps:
- Highlight a range A1: A7, hold down the key Ctrl and select a range C1:D7.
- On the Advanced tab Insert (Insert) in section Diagrams (Charts) click Insert histogram > Histogram with grouping (Column > Clustered Column).

Note: If you are using number captions, clear the cell A1 before creating the histogram. In this case, Excel will not accept the column A as a data series and will automatically place the number labels along the horizontal axis. If necessary, after creating the chart, you can enter a title in the cell A1.
