“We need uniform procedures – there is chaos and contradictory guidelines” – write in a letter to the Chief Sanitary Inspector the members of the Zielona Góra Agreement. They also call for uniform rules of conduct for medical personnel during the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus epidemic.

«On behalf of the Federation of Healthcare Employers’ Associations>, we turn to you about the problems related to various and sometimes contradictory procedures that are directed to outpatient care providers in connection with the risks of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus ″ – writes Jacek Krajewski, head of PZ in a letter to Jarosław Pinkas, head of GIS .

Chaos and conflicting guidelines

The document states, inter alia, that “doctors are bombarded with various recommendations, instructions and guidelines, providing for a specific method of action in terms of how to admit patients, perform certain procedures, or, for example, how to confirm death in times of epidemics”.

Jacek Krajewski also proposes, on behalf of the federation, “to prepare a teleconference under the aegis of GIS in a wide group of experts, as a result of which uniform recommendations for medical clinics would be established. It should be attended by consultants in the field of epidemiology, infectious diseases, family medicine, sanitary inspectors, as well as practitioners – representatives of primary care and outpatient care providers ».

Procedures are contradictory and out of touch with reality

The letter was addressed to Jarosław Pinkas, Chief Sanitary Inspector. It was also brought to the attention of the minister and deputy minister of health, as well as the president of the National Health Fund.

«Unfortunately, the procedures, guidelines and instructions that go to them are different, often contradictory and detached from reality, based on theoretical assumptions detached from reality. Different guidelines are issued by consultants in the field of epidemiology, others in the field of infectious diseases, and still others in the field of family medicine, the information from the Minister of Health, sanitary inspectors is also overlapping with this “- warns the president of the Zielona Góra Agreement.

He also adds that in the sheer volume of this information, it is impossible to adopt the most optimal rules of conduct, tailored to the real needs and capabilities of medical workers and patients.
