Cetalergin Ten – indications, dosage, contraindications, interactions, side effects

Cetalergin Ten is a drug used to relieve perennial and seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, rhinitis and idiopathic urticaria. Cetalergin This prevents bronchospasm, the formation of skin reactions and runny nose. Thanks to the active substance cetirizine it contains, histamine type 1 (H1) receptors are blocked.

CETALERGIN TEN – action

The drug Cetalergin Ten is an antagonist of H1 receptors. Thanks to the content of cetirizine, it soothes and inhibits unpleasant allergic symptoms, including runny nose, sneezing, swelling and itching of the mucous membranes. The effect of cetirizine lasts in the body for 24 hours.

CETALERGIN TEN – indications and dosage

Cetalergin This drug should be used in the treatment and prophylaxis of allergic, seasonal and perennial rhinitis, conjunctivitis or idiopathic urticaria. This preparation is in the form of tablets and is intended for oral use only. Do not exceed the recommended daily doses, because it will not increase the effectiveness of its action, and may only harm your life or health. Cetalergin Ten can be taken with or without food.

Dosage of Cetalergin Ten:

  1. Adults and children over 12 years of age 1 tablet a day (recommended in the evening),
  2. Children from 6-12. years of age over 30 kg 1 tablet a day, less than 30 kg 1/2 tablet a day.

People with renal insufficiency should reduce the dose of the drug!

CETALERGIN TEN – contraindications to the use of the drug:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the drug (piperazine derivatives or hydroxyzine),
  2. acute kidney failure,
  3. taking sleeping pills,
  4. pregnancy (only with the consent of the doctor),
  5. breast-feeding.

CETALERGIN TEN – Warnings related to the drug

Take care while taking Cetalergin Ten if:

  1. kidney or liver failure
  2. planning to perform allergic skin tests (at least 3 days before stopping the treatment),
  3. consumption of alcohol and other drugs that inhibit the activity of the central nervous system,
  4. galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency,
  5. glucose-galactose malabsorption

Lek Cetalergin Ten can induce:

  1. somnolence,
  2. rarely visual disturbance,
  3. concentration disorders,
  4. worsened reaction of drivers of motor vehicles.

CETALERGIN TEN – interactions with other drugs

Theophylline (an asthma medicine) taken at doses of 400 mg a day reduces the excretion of cetirizine. Whereas cetirizine in combination with alcohol and drugs depressing the central nervous system, may increase its suppression (hypnotic, sedative).

The use of cetirizine and ritonavir increases the effect of cetirizine. The drug may affect the results of allergic skin tests.

The following side effects may occur while taking Cetalergin Ten:

  1. headaches and dizziness,
  2. somnolence,
  3. fatigue,
  4. satisfaction
  5. dry mouth
  6. throat irritation
  7. cough,
  8. pharyngitis,
  9. nausea,
  10. diarrhea,
  11. abdominal pain,
  12. thrombocytopenia
  13. difficulty urinating
  14. eye accommodation disorders,
  15. blurred vision
  16. tachycardia, edema,
  17. liver dysfunction
  18. contractions,
  19. paresthesia,
  20. fainting
  21. confusion,
  22. insomnia,
  23. stimulation,
  24. hostility,
  25. skin reactions (rash, hives, itching) and angioedema (which may obstruct breathing),
  26. anaphylactic shock.
