The certificate is printed on a white A4 sheet. Unlike a birth certificate, which has an official seal and special watermarks, it does not have any marks. The certificate contains the data of the parents and the place of birth of the baby.

The document can be obtained from the registry office at the place of registration of the parents or at the place of birth of the baby. It is issued instead of the birth certificate, which is given in the hospital.

  • completed application;
  • Parents’ passports;

If it is lost or damaged, according to the law, you can get a duplicate. But in real life, registry offices often refuse this service. Therefore, you need to be persistent and prove your rights. The main thing is to fill out an application form for re-issuing a document, collect the necessary papers and submit a request to the registry office, where the first certificate was issued. In 1-2 days, a new certificate will be issued, it will be marked with a note that it is not the original. But even after receiving a second document, the social security authorities may refuse to accept it.

What is a birth certificate for?

Knowing how long a birth certificate is valid, you can plan your affairs in advance and do everything on time. It is necessary for:

  • receiving a lump sum at birth;
  • registration of benefits for the care of a child under 1,5 years.

It is impossible to issue these benefits without a birth certificate.
