Causes and symptoms of fibroids on the arm

Every day, the hands, and especially the hands, are affected by various factors – favorable and unfavorable. Naturally, in most cases these are not cosmetic procedures that are beneficial for the skin and joints, but a large amount of chemicals, hot sunlight and piercing wind.

Washing powders, cleaners and even soaps are based on chemical components that adversely affect the skin of the hands, and minor injuries, which usually go unnoticed, can subsequently cause the development of fibroma – a benign formation. Fibroma is a kind of proliferation of collagen fibers, connective tissue and usually appears on the wrist or on the side of the fingers. The subcutaneous tissue in these areas is thicker compared to the back of the hand.

Fibroma symptoms on the arm

The development of fibroids on the arm occurs gradually. At first, it is an inconspicuous nodule, then it is a compaction of small sizes, and only after a rather long period of time does a bump appear. Usually, the growth begins in the area of an insect bite or microtrauma, skin itching on the hands can also be attributed to indirect causes of fibroma development. As a result of constant scratching, areas of the subcutaneous tissue are damaged and collagen fibers grow, which are the building material for the neoplasm.

Fibroma on the finger

Only in rare cases, a fibroma on the finger causes pain. Pain appears only when the seal reaches a large size and the bump puts pressure on the nerve endings. The skin over the tumor may darken slightly or retain its original color. Redness occurs infrequently, but it is usually not a sign of inflammation. The occurrence of fibroma is possible in other parts of the body. The exact reasons for its formation have not been established by scientists to this day.

There are versions about hereditary predisposition to this disease, as well as its development due to injuries and inflammatory diseases.

Causes of fibroma on the arm

To prevent the development of such an unpleasant cosmetic defect as a fibroma on the hand, measures should be taken immediately with the initial symptoms of beriberi, during which the skin on the fingers dries. The main reason for this symptom lies in the lack of vitamin A found in nuts, carrots, fatty sea fish. An imbalance in nutrition can be corrected by taking vitamins prescribed by a doctor or nutritionist.

Sudden weight loss is also a risk factor for the appearance of fibroids due to beriberi and impaired metabolism. In this case, sagging skin appears on the body and hands, forming dry folds. Damage to the skin of the hands also results from regular exposure to adverse weather conditions (for example, due to professional necessity), exposure to moisture and cold. The risk group in this case are representatives of working professions and children.

A variety of diseases of the skin of the hands can be attributed to occupational diseases of car washers, cleaners and representatives of other professions, in which constant contact with water is expected. Low and high temperatures, excessive moisture are also harmful to the skin – as a result of such adverse effects, inflamed areas and a rash appear on the skin of the hands, which is a risk of benign neoplasms.

Another important risk factor is exposure to chemical irritants that cause irritation and provoke the development of fibromas.

Diagnosis and prevention of fibroids on the arm

Prevention of the appearance of neoplasms on the hands is very simple, and will not cause difficulties even for very busy people. Protective rubber gloves should be worn when working with a variety of aggressive chemicals and water. After work, it is advisable to use a special protective cream. If the skin of the hands begins to dry, then you need to moisturize it with the help of special products.

If even a small seal appears on the skin of the hands, it is urgent to consult a qualified doctor – only he can correctly diagnose fibroma. Next, the doctor will send the biomaterial obtained as a result of scraping to the laboratory for research. The study will show the presence or absence of malignant cells.

The main treatment for subcutaneous fibroids is surgery. Surgical intervention is performed by a traditional or laser method and leads to the removal of the neoplasm. If the bump has reached a fairly large size and after its removal there will be a scar, experts recommend using the radio wave method. It eliminates heavy bleeding, and healing after it is much faster.
