Cationorm – action, dosage and side effects of the drug

Cationorm are hypotonic eye drops that come in the form of an emulsion. Applied to the eyes, they moisturize, perfectly lubricate and protect the surface of the eye against any irritation. Cationorm alleviates the symptoms of dry eye, such as the sensation of a foreign body in the eye, stinging or itching. The drug does not contain preservatives.

The active substance of the drug – Cationorm

Cationorm eye drops contain mineral oils, glycerol, tyloxapol, poloxamer 188, tris-hydrochloride, tromethamine, cetalkonium chloride and purified water.

The preparation relieves the symptoms of this syndrome, which are most often caused by external factors. It is recommended for all those who stay for a long time in air-conditioned, smoky rooms, wherever the air is polluted. Moisturizing drops should also be used by those who spend many hours in front of computer and laptop screens.

Taking and dosage of Cationorm

The drops are placed directly into the eye. It is recommended to administer 1 drop in each eye at one time. The drops can be applied up to 4 times a day.

Cationorm Drops can be used while wearing contact lenses. They do not worsen their condition or quality in any way.

Cationorm drops must not be used after three months from the first opening of the package. Store them at room temperature.

Before using the drops, you should wash your hands thoroughly so as not to contaminate your eyes. When opening the bottle for the first time, hold it firmly and unscrew the cap vigorously to break the seal. Before the first drops are put into the eye, the bottle should be turned downwards and a few drops should be released into the palm of your hand, being careful not to touch the tip with anything. Then, tilt your head back, pull the lower eyelid downwards, look up and without touching your eye, let a drop of the preparation in, gently squeezing the bottle. Then blink a few times to help spread the drops over the surface of the eyeball.

The entire operation should be repeated with the other eye. After applying the preparation, gently shake off any remnants of the preparation from the bottle and gently replace the cap protecting the bottle.

Contraindications to the use of the drug Cationorm

The preparation must not be used in people who are allergic to any of the ingredients of the drug. It should also be remembered that this preparation is not intended to treat other ailments.

Cationorm – side effects and side effects

Like any other medicinal preparation, Cationorm drops can cause side effects. The person using them may feel irritation or even pain in the eye. It happens that the eyes are watery, red, itchy or stinging. In rare cases, inflammation or swelling of the eyelids may occur.

Cationorm drops can also alleviate the symptoms of other conditions, which patients need to be aware of. Cationorm drops are not a cure for other ailments and these should always be consulted with an ophthalmologist.
