Catching silver carp for technoplankton, fishing technique and gear overview

More recently, anglers tried to catch silver carp with not quite familiar bait. Among these baits could be found:

  • carrot;
  • cucumber;
  • sorrel;
  • nettles;
  • clover;
  • various algae.

In addition, they also tried to add products familiar to all anglers:

  • semolina;
  • canned corn;
  • steamed peas.

With the advent of technoplankton, the approach to catching silver carp has changed dramatically. Technoplankton is a food powder pressed into a barrel shape. This made it possible to use conventional gear, such as a bottom or float rod, for catching silver carp.

Tackle

The equipment of the “donkey” and the usual fishing rod is almost identical, but the float rod is characterized by the presence of a float.

  1. Particular attention should be paid to the choice of rod, since bites of large individuals weighing 20-30 kg are possible. This is a powerful rod from 2,7 to 3,5 m, depending on the fishing conditions.
  2. Depending on the power of the rod, a reel is selected, the size of which should be in the range of 4000-4500. Moreover, with a prerequisite for the presence of a friction clutch and a baitrunner. The reel should hold at least 100-150 m of fishing line, with a diameter of 0,3 mm.
  3. A sinker is installed on the main line, weighing from 30 to 100 g (depending on the strength of the current, fishing depth and casting distance). The mount can be either rigid or sliding.
  4. Depending on the size of the individuals, the size of the hook is selected. It can be hooks No. 6, No. 8.
  5. The float can be made from foam yourself by installing an anti-twist tube.

Tooling

For catching silver carp, a special stick or “trempel” is included in the equipment. This rig, shaped like a triangle and made of wire, has a pin in its design, on which technoplankton is located. On both sides of the “silver carp sticks” there are leashes with hooks. The main line is attached to the same structure.

Bottom rigging

With the bottom method of fishing, the design is assembled in a slightly different way. Behind the central eye, to the main fishing line, a “silver carp stick” is attached. Leashes with hooks are mounted to the rest of the ears, foam is used as bait. Technoplankton is mounted on the trempel pin and fixed with a special rubber tube. The design allows you to secure a third leash.

In this case, the snap is formed as follows. An anti-twist tube is put on the main line, and a sinker is attached to the end of the line in a rigid way. A float is installed in the upper part of the tube. A “trempel” with a leash is mounted to the place where the tube is attached. The “silver carp stick” has the same fastening as in the case of bottom tackle. The only difference is the lack of foam balls on the hooks. In this rig, the hooks should be 5-15 cm lower than the technoplankton barrel, which is ensured by the length of the leashes.

Bait and bait

Technoplankton is characterized by its efficiency in catching silver carp, which is associated with the peculiarities of its diet. Unfortunately, such bait can only be purchased in a store, which costs a certain amount of money.

The powder consists of various components that cause appetite in the silver carp. This is due to the addition of flavor enhancers and flavors. On sale you can find technoplankton, which has various aromas:

  • original;
  • bloodworm;
  • strawberries;
  • honey;
  • anise;
  • blood;
  • vanilla;
  • raspberries, etc.

So far, no one has been able to come up with an alternative to technoplankton, although searches among anglers are ongoing. If some fishermen and remoteness something to oppose, then only somewhere and in individual reservoirs. The action of technoplankton is based on its constant dissolution in the water column and the formation of a food spot in this place from very small food particles. This creates conditions for attracting silver carp, since it feeds mainly on such small particles. Although the silver carp does not refuse aquatic vegetation, clearing water bodies of it.

Technique of fishing

There are no special features in the technique of catching silver carp. The main thing is to correctly mount the equipment and secure the barrel with technoplankton. After that, the tackle is thrown into the water, and the fishing rod is installed on the stand. The moment of bite can be fixed with the help of a float or by the movement of the rod tip. It all depends on what method of fishing is chosen at the moment.

Technoplankton can stay in water for 1,5 to 2 hours, slowly dissolving and attracting silver carp. After the approach of fish interested in the nutrient medium, the silver carp begins to suck in small particles of food, not noticing that there are hooks in this thickness. Sucking in food, the fish also sucks in hooks, after which it tries to get rid of them, but this is not so easy. As a result, a bite follows and the angler only needs to hook.

It is advisable to use a float rod when the fish is distributed over different layers of water. This may be at night, but large specimens are known to always prefer depth.

After a bite, there is no need to rush to fight. The silver carp is a strong fish and needs to be killed at some distance from the shore. After that, when it becomes clear that she practically does not resist, she can be brought to the shore. When pulling a silver carp out of the water, you should use a landing net. Its value should correspond to the size of the fish.

The use of technoplankton for silver carp fishing has opened up new horizons for anglers and a new idea of fishing in general. The day is not far off when they will boast of new developments and new recipes that will be of great help in relation to technoplankton, as well as in matters of “hunting” for silver carp.
