Dropshot – This is one of the types of equipment used for bottom fishing. Actively playing bait allows you to catch various kinds of predatory fish, but you should stop at catching rotan.
This fish is found in almost all water bodies where it leads a predatory lifestyle, feeding on everything that only moves in the water, including the eggs of fish that have spawned. As a rule, it lives in the bottom part of the reservoir. Hunts for fry of all kinds of fish. It prefers to be in thickets of aquatic vegetation, where it waits for its potential prey.
Tooling
The bottom view of the equipment has a very simple instruction and consists of:
- sinkers;
- hook.
The weight is attached to the end of the main line either blindly or with a carabiner. At a distance of 30-50 cm from the load, a hook is attached, and without a leash, directly on the fishing line. The hook can be of any size, but everyone knows that rattan does not grow to large sizes, so you can take a hook of size 7 or 10, but of the domestic classification. As a load, you can take an oblong-shaped load with a rubber tube to minimize hooks.
Various silicone twisters, vibrotails, worms, bugs, crustaceans, spiders, etc. are suitable as bait. The baiting is carried out both by the standard (jigging) method and by the usual hooking of the bait on the hook.
Wiring
There are several types of wiring. Step wiring has become widespread. It consists in the fact that after the sinker reaches the bottom, a sharp jerk is made, after which the coil makes 3-4 turns and a pause. During the pause, you can additionally play with the bait, making various movements with the rod or one tip. In the process of winding the fishing line, you can play along with the bait, making small left-right movements in terms of amplitude.
Tips
In the event of a bite, do not rush to strike. He grabs the bait not very actively, so he needs to give 2-3 seconds for the final capture. Only after that you can make cutting. For fishing to be successful, you need to choose the right place. The best place for rotan is thickets of aquatic vegetation. Wiring should be carried out along such vegetation. Since the rotan is located in these thickets, it will attack the bait from cover.
