Cashmere coat care. Video
A cashmere coat is a wardrobe item that can be safely classified as a fashion classic. Such a product is distinguished by elegance and beauty and will be an excellent complement to a luxurious stylish look. However, keep in mind that cashmere is very difficult to care for, so if you do not want to ruin an expensive item, pay due attention to the peculiarities of washing products made of such material.
Basic rules for cleaning cashmere coats
The most important rule that you need to remember and strictly follow is: before washing, be sure to look at the icons indicated on the label and decipher them. Some cashmere coats are machine washable, while others are hand wash only. The icons on the label also tell you what the water temperature should be.
The peculiarities of coat care depend on the composition of the fabric, because pure cashmere is very rarely used. Some materials cannot be washed at all. In such cases, only careful dry cleaning is permissible.
Observe another important rule: to wash a cashmere coat, you need to buy a special detergent designed for this type of fabric. Choose quality powders and liquids that can gently clean your fabric without damaging it. Saving in such matters is completely inappropriate, because it can lead to damage to a very expensive coat.
If you want to clean the product or wash it by hand, never use hard brushes – they can damage the material and the coat will lose its attractiveness. Use special products or use your palms to clean the fabric.
How to wash and dry a cashmere coat
Most often, a cashmere coat is hand washed. Fill the bathtub halfway with warm water, and then add or pour the detergent into the bathtub, measuring the correct amount. The packaging will indicate how much powder or liquid to use. Follow these instructions strictly. If you are using powder, make sure that it dissolves so that not a single lump remains in the water. Only then place the coat in the water, and then rinse it carefully, paying particular attention to the contaminated areas. If there are stains on the fabric that cannot be removed immediately, scrub them with mild baby soap and leave the coat in the water for an hour.
You can try washing your coat in a typewriter, choosing a temperature no higher than 40 degrees and a delicate mode without spinning.
When you clean the fabric, drain the dirty water and then gently rinse the garment. Rinse it with clean water until you completely remove the detergent. Then, without wringing out the fabric, hang the coat over the bathroom on hangers and leave the excess liquid to drain. When the water stops dripping, transfer the product to a well-ventilated room and leave to dry completely.
