Carbon peeling

Modern cosmetic procedures can eliminate almost any imperfection on the face – from clogged pores and acne to wrinkles and age spots. Now carbon peeling is especially popular. What is its essence?

What is laser carbon peeling

Carbon (aka carbon) peeling is a relatively new laser procedure that allows you to quickly, effectively and, most importantly, almost painlessly deal with skin imperfections. This procedure is also called carbon cleansing, because the skin is really cleansed. Also, carbon peeling is effective against acne, shallow wrinkles.

Features of the procedure

How does this happen? In the salon, the skin of the face is cleaned with an antiseptic, a nanogel mask with carbon dioxide is applied. Outwardly, it looks like dissolved activated charcoal, but it acts like the means used for peeling: it gently exfoliates dead skin particles, smoothes the skin surface. After the mask has dried, the skin is treated with a laser. It enhances its effect and also warms up the deep layers of the skin. As a result:

  • accelerates the rejection of dead cells;

  • skin regeneration processes are enhanced;

  • collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid are more actively produced;

  • pores narrow, sebum production decreases;

  • the skin relief is leveled, the complexion improves.

During the procedure, you will feel only pleasant warmth. No pain!

Mechanism of action

Literally after the first procedure, the skin looks younger. How many sessions do you need to see the effect? It all depends on how many problems there were initially. But the fact that the pores will open, fine wrinkles will be smoothed out, and age spots will become lighter, you can count on after 1-2 sessions. In total, cosmetologists recommend 5-7 procedures, in rare cases more. The frequency of sessions is once every 2-3 weeks.

Показания

What skin problems are carbon peeling useful for?

  1. Signs of aging – wrinkles, dull complexion, etc.

  2. Comedones, acne, traces of post-acne.

  3. Expanded pores.

  4. Increased oiliness of the skin.

  5. Dark spots.

If the skin is oily, porous and fading at the same time, you do not have to spend money on various procedures – just one carbon peeling is enough. The same is true in the case of irritated skin with acne manifestations – there may be several problems, but one procedure will be needed.

Противопоказания

The list of contraindications is standard for a salon procedure.

  • Any disease in acute and chronic form.

  • Pregnancy and lactation.

  • Oncological diseases.

  • Age up to 20 years: for younger patients, it is better to choose a less aggressive procedure.

  • Herpes rashes, microtraumas, abrasions – first they need to be healed, and then proceed to peeling.

  • Keloid type scars (i.e. raised, firm scars).

  • Is carbon peeling worth it for rosacea? To answer this question, you need to get expert advice.

Carbon peeling is most often recommended for problematic skin.

What results to expect after carbon peeling

This procedure is most often recommended for problematic skin, when rashes are noticeable on the face, and even matting creams and wipes do not help reduce oiliness. After carbon peeling, the skin is cleansed, the pores are narrowed. It will become easier to apply foundation – it will be evenly distributed over the skin and will not flow by the end of the day.

The procedure gives a good result even at the first signs of aging. You can expect that after a course of procedures, wrinkles will decrease, and age spots will become less noticeable or disappear altogether. The relief of the skin will even out, the complexion will improve.

When Can You Do a Carbon Facial?

This procedure is year-round. Probably shouldn’t just do it. in summer, unless it turned out to be quite rainy and overcast. In any case, enhanced sun protection is required.

In the spring there are almost no restrictions for carbon peeling. This is generally the best time for the procedure: not hot, not cold, and the sun is not as bright as in summer. However, it is better to stay at home for 1-2 days after carbon cleansing, and then use cosmetics with SPF for several days.

in winter you need to be afraid of wind and temperature changes: after carbon peeling, the skin comes to its senses for several days, becomes especially sensitive and tender. After the salon – no walks in the fresh air for at least 3-5 days. In addition, ask your doctor to select a protective cream that will protect the skin from wind and frost, and use it for 1-2 weeks. You will also need sunscreen during the day.

In the autumn, as in spring, the recovery period after the procedure is minimal. A couple of days at home – and you can go out, showing renewed skin. Detailed instructions on how to care for the skin after carbon peeling will be given by a specialist.

Preparation period

  1. Choose your clinic carefully – ask if these procedures have been practiced here for a long time, what kind of gel is used, ask for certificates and documents confirming the quality of the laser. If you can talk to people who have already done carbon peeling in this salon, it will be generally wonderful.

  2. Do not go to the salon if blackheads or pimples popped up yesterday or today – in this case, carbon peeling will not relieve, but only exacerbate the problem.

  3. Don’t prescribe a procedure before and during menstruation.

  4. Before peeling do not use decorative cosmetics – you still have to wash it off.

  5. Ask your doctor to check do you have a sensitivity to carboxylic acid (in this case, the gel will first be applied to a small area of the skin).

Carbon peeling is usually booked towards the end of the week: the skin needs time to recover.

Stages of peeling in the salon

The whole procedure rarely takes longer 20-30 minutes and is well tolerated easily. The skin is treated with an antiseptic, carbon gel is applied. The beautician waits for it to dry, and then puts on your goggles and turns on the laser. You will hear a small crackle, it may seem to you that tiny bubbles are exploding on the skin, but you will not feel any burning or pain, only pleasant warmth. If there are painful sensations, it means that the doctor did not see any cracks or wounds, or the laser was not set up correctly. Be sure to tell him that the procedure is sensitive for you! After the end of the session, a light moisturizer is applied.

Face. The beautician does not touch the particularly sensitive areas around the eyes and lips. The laser treats only the T-zone and cheeks.

Back and arms. The procedure is performed only on problem areas – where there is acne, blackheads or age spots.

Neckline. It is most often treated together with the face, without transferring the procedure to another day.

Tips for care and recovery after the procedure

Carbon peeling is usually booked towards the end of the week: the skin after the session may peel off a little, and it takes time for it to recover – you will have to spend the next couple of days at home. Side effects are practically excluded, except for an individual reaction to carboxylic acid. There are also almost no complications after carbon cleansing, and if they do occur, it is only due to violations of the procedure protocol or due to improper skin care after the procedure.
  • First day you will have to skip the evening washing: the beautician applies a protective agent to the face, which should act for some time.

  • 2-3 days you can not use decorative cosmetics, 2 weeks – scrubs, peels, products that contain alcohol. At the same time, you will have to forget about the washcloth if the procedure was performed on the arms, chest and back. But on the contrary, it is worth using special restorative agents that a cosmetologist can recommend.

  • For 2 week you will have to refuse to visit the pool with chlorinated water, baths and saunas.

  • Direct sunlight should be avoided, otherwise age spots and freckles may appear later. In autumn, winter and spring, cosmetologists advise using cosmetics with SPF as minimum 3 of the week after the procedure.

Can peeling be done at home?

This question worries many, but, unfortunately, it is impossible to carry out carbon peeling at home. We need special cosmetics, sophisticated equipment, and most importantly, the qualifications of a cosmetologist. The procedure should be performed by an experienced specialist who can assess the sensitivity of the skin, calculate the degree of exposure – otherwise laser burns cannot be avoided. At home, you can only apply carbon gel, but without a laser, it does not work. It is best to carry out the procedure in the clinic, with an experienced specialist.

Which is better – carbon peeling or chemical peeling?

This is a purely individual question. Who will say, for example, which is better, gel or foam for washing? Someone likes (and suits) one thing more, someone else. In essence, carbon peeling is a combination of chemical and laser peels. And a specialist will help to understand the nuances and indications. No self-respecting clinic will begin this or that procedure immediately, without prior consultation with a cosmetologist. Ultimately, the effectiveness depends on the competence of specialists, even if we are talking about hardware cosmetology: the person himself sets the settings and carries out the procedure.
