The first Tourist Gastronomy Congress to be organized in the Canary Islands is designed to improve the knowledge and gastronomic experience of tourists visiting the islands.
Culinary Tenerife, is an event aimed at professionals in the kitchen, confectionery and rooms of the Horeca sector (hotels, restaurants and catering), which was born with the intention of being among the most important due to its multipurpose and interdisciplinary format.
Training and learning are fused with debate and knowledge of new preparation and presentation techniques, all of this in order to advance and improve in the field of tourist gastronomy.
Along with the actors and producers of the gastronomic activity, producers and distributors who also participate in the entire value chain of gastronomy in the hotel industry, as well as culture and the traditional recipes of Canarian cuisine, are invited.
The Congress has the collaboration of the Government of the Canary Islands, through its Canary Islands tourism brand and the public company Gestión del Medio Rural de Canarias (GMR); the Cabildo de Tenerife (Tourism of Tenerife, Taste Tenerife and Tenerife Island of Wines); and the Adeje City Council (Costa Adeje and Adeje Impulsa).
The place chosen to hold the congress is the Costa Adeje Tourism Development Center (CDTCA), the next September 21-23.
An interesting activity beyond the pure congress
The congress Culinary Tenerife 2016 focuses on the variety and quality of scheduled activities as if it were a restaurant menu, giving special relevance and importance to the vision of quality cuisine and local produce.
The dynamics of Culinaria Tenerife will take place in six main stages or areas. The Auditorium Assembly Hall, a Gastronomic Classroom, a Classroom and a Demonstration Room, the Expo Space (Garden and Multipurpose Room) and the Restaurant.
The main activities that we can see at the Culinary Tenerife congress will be:
- The formative and informative workshops, where through a professional kitchen and an arched grandstand the different training programs will be developed live.
- The live show cookings, where guest chefs will be in charge of taking the gastronomic field to the first level.
- Masterclasses by renowned Spanish chefs that will make the Gastronomic Hall a permanent source of training and information on the Congress.
- Presentations and company demos to learn more about the products and services that these players in the hospitality industry offer to the end customer of the kitchen or living room.
- The Exhibition Space, where the sponsors participate.
The III National Gastronomy Contest
One of the great acts and his claim to the event is the celebration in the Culinary Tenerife 2016 area of the III National Gastronomy Contest, coordinated by the Federation of Cooks and Bakers of Spain (Facyre).
It is one of the great competitions on the gastronomic calendar, where the best regional selections in Spain and a jury made up of very important names in the kitchen and professionals from national and international dining rooms are concentrated.
As in previous editions of the national gastronomy contest, there are five types of competition or contest that will take place on the days of the event, cooking, pastry, room service, sommelier and cocktails.
The attendance of three great avant-garde chefs such as they are is closed Mario Sandoval, María Marte and Ángel León, combining Michelin stars and, above all, know-how, which gives the event a special relevance in terms of the objectivity of the deliberations.
