Can fertilization take place during the infertile days? Is pregnancy in infertile days possible? Is it Safe to Have Unprotected Sex at the End of Infertile Days? What are the reasons why your period might be late? The question is answered by the drug. Katarzyna Darecka.
Is it possible to get pregnant during the infertile days?
I would like to ask you if it is possible to enter pregnancy on infertile days? I need a reliable doctor’s opinion on this, because the information on the Internet is contradictory, and I would like to know XNUMX% whether it is possible at all. I have had unprotected intercourse with my partner in days of infertilityit was their end, but they were still barren days. I menstruate regularly and so far this method has always worked well for me. Now, however, my period is late and I am beginning to wonder if it is possible to get pregnant during the infertile days? If it was the end of the infertile days, is there a chance that I got pregnant and should have a pregnancy test?
I’m worried because we haven’t planned a baby now, but I still hope that maybe I’m not pregnant after all. Is there a chance that if these were infertile days, I did not get pregnant and my period is late for another reason? I would also like to know some more detailed information on the effectiveness of the calendar. If I choose everything correctly, is it a real threat to become pregnant during the infertile days? Is he just panicking?
The doctor explains whether fertilization can take place during the infertile days
Keep in mind that calendar method NOT a method of contraception. However, if we use NPR method properly and for many months, we can tell with great confidence when the fertile days are and when they are not.
Theoretically, fertile days are 7-15 days of the cycle. However, this would be the case in an ideal world, but just as each of us differs externally, we are not identical internally. A woman’s menstrual cycle is not always identical, and ovulation may occur later or earlier than the 14th day of her period. Intercourse on the day of ovulation gives the best chance of conceiving a child (30-40%).
Signs of ovulation are: cervical discharge with the appearance of “egg white” – after defecation and wiping the area of the vaginal vestibule, insert clean fingers into the vagina and touch the cervix. After removing the fingers from the vagina, mucus is visible. If it looks like the protein of a broken egg, it can be stretched between your fingers 5 cm long – this is it fertile mucus. During the internal examination, you can also recognize whether the cervix has decreased compared to the previous days – if so, you can say that these are fertile days.
The basal temperature of the body, measured in the oral cavity or vagina, seems to be the easiest to examine, and its increase by 0.4-1.0 degrees C in relation to the normal temperature for a given woman indicates ovulation. It is best to have intercourse immediately after or just in front of your height. Reverse operation to this method – i.e. unprotected intercourse at least 24 hours after the onset of ovulation until the onset of menstruation gives a good contraceptive effect.
If unprotected sexual intercourse took place in the days leading up to your planned monthly bleeding, the risk of becoming pregnant is very low. To be sure, you can always do a pregnancy test on the day you are due to start your period. Its negative result should exclude pregnancy.
If you do not want to happen at this point, I recommend not using the calendar method, but replacing it with another method that has been proven to be effective in scientific research, i.e. hormonal contraception, NPR, contraceptive implant, condoms. If you are wondering about a method, it is worth asking your gynecologist – he should choose an appropriate method of contraception for your lifestyle.
