Can we prevent torticollis?
To prevent stiff necks, it may be beneficial to use a suitable pillow and try not to sleep too much on your stomach, this position pulling on the back of your neck. In the office, it may be effective to check your position in front of your computer. The screen should not be too high or too low, but at eye level the seat height should be properly adjusted. Finally, the mouse must not be too far from you.
It may also be useful to stretch and to get up regularly when you spend your days sitting. The arms can be moved, the shoulders relaxed, the head tilted forward and from side to side. On the other hand, tilting the head back should be avoided.
If torticollis comes back frequently, sessions of yoga may be effective in limiting the risk of recurrence.
