Can pets carry the coronavirus?

It is already clear that contact with strangers should be avoided during a pandemic. But what about pets? And can they get a terrible infection? The answer is already there!

An increasing number of people are becoming victims of coronavirus infection. Because of this, we are all forced to observe strict isolation and not communicate with outsiders.

According to experts, COVID-19 can be caught even with fleeting contact with the infected.

It is known that the virus was originally transmitted to humans from wild animals. In this regard, many people have a question: can pets get sick with coronavirus and become carriers of a dangerous infection?

According to the head of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection Vladimir Burmatov, pets are not capable of contracting COVID-19, much less spreading it.

According to the representative of the authorities, this fact has been confirmed by numerous studies.

“According to current WHO data, there are no facts of infection of cats and dogs with COVID-19. French health agency Anses has also ruled out the possibility of human exposure to the virus from pets. Russian scientists also agree with this. According to the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology, pets, including cats and dogs, cannot be a source of infection with a new coronavirus infection, ”Burmatov wrote in his microblog.

The politician shared a terrifying fact: in a number of veterinary hospitals in Russia, people began to bring their pets and ask to put them to sleep, “since they are sick with coronavirus.”

“It is nonsense! Coronaviruses of cats and dogs are not transmitted to us, and your pets cannot infect you with them. So now is the time to disassemble them from the shelters: no self-isolation is terrible with them, they will not let you get bored in quarantine, and you can quite safely walk in their company on the street! ” – said the representative of the State Duma.
