Can Amol be used to treat ear pain?

Good morning, my ear has been hurting for several days. I have such earache from time to time as a result of recurring infections. And here my question arises – can it be used Amol for earache? This is the old method used in my home and even my grandmother used Amol for earache. I was surprised myself once, but Amol soothes the earache and indeed the problem becomes less severe, and after a few days it ceased. However, I started to wonder if the use of Amol is really safe, because ultimately it has a different application. Can Amol be used for earache? Whether treatment of earache with Amol may it have any side effects that i don’t know about because i haven’t seen it yet?

I will be obliged for you to provide me with such information as I have not found reliable sources on the subject indications for the use of Amoland even less so to such mild ear infections. Explaining – I once had this problem with a doctor and he prescribed me a drug that worked similarly, but was quite expensive. Since the effect was the same, I went back to using Amol for earache, and so far there have been no problems with it. However, I began to wonder if such home remedies for earache were really safe. Can Amol Used For Earache Affect Hearing?

The doctor advises if Amol will help with earache treatment

W composition of Amol enters: clove oil, cinnamon oil, lemon oil, citronella oil, lavender oil, peppermint oil and menthol. According to the Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC), it can be used orally or topically on the skin with a small amount of the product diluted or wiped with a cotton pad. There is NO earache included in the manufacturer’s indications. Just like the manufacturer himself, I would not recommend using Amol for an ear infection. In addition to the fact that there is no information that Amol can be used for an ear infection in the SmPC, there is no scientific research to support any of the ingredients in Amol to relieve ear pain.

Probably the memories of symptom relief after using this drug are the result of the placebo effect. Ear pain in adults seems to be self-limiting in most cases. Ear pain is often the result of an oropharyngeal infection that is connected to the middle ear via the eustachian tube. Another reason may be dental problems – if the visit took place a long time ago, it is worth making an appointment for a follow-up visit. In case of earache, relief should be achieved with the use of painkillers (eg Ibuprofen, paracetamol). Do not put anything in your ear, try to remove earwax from your ears, and do not let water get into your ear.

Adult ear pain is usually a self-limiting disease and will resolve on its own in about 3 days. However, if the pain persists, and additionally there is a high fever with chills, swelling of the ear area, fluid starts to leak from the ear, your hearing deteriorates or loss, you should see your GP. -During the visit, the doctor will be able to conduct a thorough interview, examine the area of the head, mouth and other parts of the body. As a result of the personal and physical examination, the doctor will be able to implement any further diagnostics, treatment or refer them to a specialist.
