Can you whiten your teeth with fillings?

Teeth with fillings are a special case during whitening procedures. Bleaching with a laser, lamp or overlays allows you to act only on natural teeth. The seals, on the other hand, are not susceptible to substances used to lighten the enamel. If the problematic arrangement of seals in visible places is to disturb the whitening result, such fillings can be replaced with lighter ones.

While teeth with fillings can be whitened, the procedure is not performed on teeth with cavities and caries. Only the healed and filled teeth after scaling and sandblasting will be in a condition suitable for the whitening procedure. Most often these are teeth after root canal treatment that require special treatment. The chance to whiten them is to apply whitening preparation not only outside, but also inside the tooth. Lamp irradiation is also used during the procedure. There are two procedures of this type – gradual Walking Bleaching and intensive Power Bleaching.

There is no XNUMX% guarantee that whitening dead teeth will bring the desired result. However, it is likely that their shade will be lightened enough to positively affect the aesthetics of the bite.
