Can a sheet mask be used multiple times? This and other burning questions regarding the use of popular sheet masks are analyzed in detail in the article. An overview with our favorite representatives of the genre is attached.
Why are sheet masks good?
A sheet mask is an intensive skin care product that does the job in just a matter of minutes. And the tasks are different:
intensive hydration;
matting;
recovery;
cleansing and narrowing of pores;
smoothing wrinkles and increasing elasticity.
In fact, the list is endless. Such versatility of fabric masks is associated with a huge variety of compositions.
Recall that a sheet mask consists of two components:
woven base with slits for eyes and mouth, made of light and plastic material;
concentrate or serum with which this base is impregnated.
Such a mask literally sticks to the face, preventing skin contact with air, due to which the active components of the concentrate work as efficiently as possible.
Sheet masks are capable of a wide variety of effects, in addition to moisturizing.
Most often, the main effect of a sheet mask is moisturizing, and it is quite enough to give the face a refreshed, rested, radiant look.
Fabric (however, like any other masks) are a means of additional, and not basic care. They can be used like:
quick action tools (read more about Cinderella’s helpers here);
as a regular care.

How to use a sheet mask correctly
Using a sheet mask is a no-brainer, but rules are rules. And they must be followed.
Skin preparation
Of course, the face must be completely clean, without traces of makeup. Before using the mask, you can wash your face, exfoliate your skin with a scrub or steam your face.
Applying a face mask
Open the mask sachet.
Remove the soaked cloth.
Unroll carefully.
Place on the face so that the eyes and mouth fall into the slits.
Spread the fabric over your face.
Leave the mask on your face for 10-15 minutes (or as directed).
Skin care after application
After the fabric is removed after the specified amount of time, the remaining concentrate must be rubbed or driven into the skin with light massage or patting movements.
Woven masks literally stick to the face.
If there is too much residue and you are uncomfortable, you can remove it with a cotton pad or tissue. If necessary, moisten a cotton pad with tonic or thermal water.
How many times can cloth masks be used during the day
Garnier expert dermatologist Marina Kamanina does not recommend using sheet masks twice a day.
“A single application provides quite adequate hydration for the whole day. Using the mask repeatedly will make your skin heavier. Excess moisture can cause discomfort.
Why you can’t reuse a disposable mask
A sheet mask is a disposable product, it is no coincidence that it is packaged in individual packages. After opening the package, the product must be used immediately, and discarded after use. You cannot use the same mask twice.
We all know that there is always a fair amount of concentrate left in the package, which would be enough for two sessions. Too bad to throw it away? We understand you perfectly, but we can’t recommend hiding the mask in the refrigerator until the next time. The only thing that can be done so as not to waste good is to apply the remnants on the arms, neck, and décolleté. We are sure that you do so, but you will have to get rid of the used woven base.
“Sheet masks are not recommended to be reused, because after a single application, microorganisms or bacteria can remain on the fabric, and the wet fabric will be an excellent breeding ground.”
Are there reusable face masks?
Reusable masks include silicone masks, they operate on the same principle as fabric ones, that is, they create an occlusive effect, but there is no impregnation. Such a “dry” mask can be used with any serum, concentrate, cream mask of your choice. Then the silicone mask is thoroughly washed, dried and stored until required.
Throw away the sheet mask immediately after use.
