Many people get COVID-19 asymptomatic or have only mild symptoms. For this reason, there are questions whether a person who has suffered from the coronavirus asymptomatically can still infect, to which Dr. n. med. Tomasz Dzieciatkowski, a virologist from the Medical University of Warsaw.
How can COVID-19 become infected?
The COVID-19 coronavirus infection can be asymptomatic, light or severe, even leading to the death of the patient. For this reason, all precautions should be taken that will allow us to minimize the risk of infection, and thus protect not only ourselves, but also other people at risk we deal with. The vast majority of people may only have mild cold-like symptoms. However, they cannot be underestimated and immediately undergo a medical check.
People who have strong symptoms of coronavirus infection go to the nearest infectious disease ward. Due to the current lack of drugs that would effectively combat COVID-19, pharmacotherapy mainly consists of administering drugs that minimize symptoms. In some cases, patients are intubated to help them breathe. If your symptoms slowly improve and the re-test for coronavirus is negative, you may be discharged from the hospital as healthy.

Can a person who has been asymptomatic with coronavirus still contagious? Dr hab. n. med. Tomasz Dzieiątkowski explains that it is not possible if we are dealing with an asymptomatically infected person who has eliminated the virus and two genetic tests are carried out which show that this virus does not exist. Then we will not be dealing with a person transmitting COVID-19 to others. Therefore, it is not infected.
