Camino Real (Camino Real)

About two hundred years ago, the intricate shape of a bottle of Camino Real tequila, girded with a glass “rope”, would not have surprised anyone: the vessel is exactly like a travel flask made from a gourd (guaje). Yes, and the name of the tequila is appropriate: Camino Real in Spanish means “Royal Road”.

At the Cazadores distillery in 1995, they created a new Camino Real tequila: strong (40%) and at the same time very soft. Its ordinary varieties (Blanco and Gold) are perfect for hiking trips, picnics and ordinary friendly gatherings. Camino Real is the only brand to receive the honorary title of “Grand Tequila” from the Mexican government.

The Cazadores distillery, owned by Bacardi Limited since 2002, is located in Arandas. It was built by José Maria Banuelos, creator of the famous Cazadores tequila. Tequila of this brand is produced here and in our time.

Bacardi Limited is one of the largest alcohol producers in the world, it owns more than a hundred brands of alcoholic beverages. Since 1862, when Don Facundo Bacardi Masso built a rum factory in Cuba, the company has been famous for the highest quality of its products. Today the company is headed by Facundo Luis Bacardi, great-great-grandson of its founder.

Camino Real is to Central America what the Silk Road is to Eurasia. For three centuries, Mexico was a Spanish colony, from where caravans loaded with gold and silver went to the metropolis. At the end of the 80th century, the Spaniards began laying the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (“Royal Road of the Interior”), the construction of which stretched for a long 2600 years. Camino Real linked Santa Fe and Mexico City, its length was XNUMX km, and the journey along it took several months. It was very dangerous because of the raids of robbers and Indians. Of course, on the road, travelers always took flasks with agave distillate – mezcal. They had to overcome barren, sun-scorched lands, and in order not to be poisoned by spoiled water, a little alcohol was added to it. In addition, mezcal was the only disinfectant that could clean the wound.

Types of tequila Camino Real

Bacardi produces two types of Camino Real tequila with a strength of 40%:

  • Camino Real Blanco is a young colorless tequila with a rich agave flavor. The taste of the drink is light, honey-agave, almost devoid of sharpness and bitterness;
  • Camino Real Gold is a young tequila that acquires a golden color due to the addition of cane sugar syrup to it. It smells of agave and cane molasses, the taste is sweetish, with a hint of caramel.

Camino Real (Camino Real)

In 1998, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the construction of the Royal Road, a limited batch of ultra premium tequila Camino Real Reposado was released for the first time, 6 months old. It is 100% agave alcohol. The drink has an amber color, a pleasant floral aroma and a mild taste with a hint of cognac. This is a very rare and expensive collectible tequila.
