We will start now with calmness. A very handy technique for practicing calmness is «calm presence.» Some of those present are familiar with this technique. Friends, raise your hand, to whom you know … (several hands are raised) These are those who were at either the “Basic” or other training of the “Synton Program”.
Thank you. The rest hear for the first time.
Those who know about this technique will just remember one more time. Because we’re going to start simple and move on to more complex variations to try out this skill in a difficult situation. What is the essence of «quiet presence»? Those who raised their hands, those who are familiar, tell me in your own words, how do you understand this technique at the moment?
— (remark from the audience, Ivan) Like a video camera.
— (I specify) The effect of the video camera.
— Well, yes. I am like a video camera. I observe, I see everything, I fix everything, but I do not react in any way.
— Yeah. Does anyone have any additions?
— (Maxim) Emotionless.
— Emotionless. Just straight, calm. Yes indeed.
“Calm presence” is a state when you are mostly outside with your attention. The usual state for an ordinary person is the so-called internally oriented trance. That is, when an internal dialogue is constantly going on, a person thinks mainly about himself, about his problems.
Which, by the way, often comes up during this internal dialogue.
