Everyone is already used to the fact that water meters or, for example, gas meters have an inter-calibration interval. It is carried out on time and the population knows about it and is preparing for the procedure. But new houses are increasingly rented out with horizontal heating distribution, which means that there are separate devices for measuring heat, which also need to be studied. We tell you what the verification of heat meters is in 2022, who is involved in it, and how it goes.
Why is heat meter calibration necessary?
The need for verification of heat meters is already fixed by law. But you need to do it without it. The owners will only benefit, because they will know how things are with their equipment.
“Any device has an expiration date and a period of correct operation: on average, a home appliance works correctly for 4-6 years,” says Frisquet Technical Director Roman Gladkikh.
After this period, the device may show upward readings. This will happen at least because the cleaning filters will clog:
– As a result, the meter “winds up” excess heat and levels out all efforts to save on heating.
Moreover, the technical documentation of the meter most often indicates the period when it is necessary to carry out verification. This cannot be ignored.
Terms of verification of heat meters
When the meter was produced at the factory, it was checked against a metering device, which is considered a reference. It is this day of issue that is considered the date of the primary verification, and from this period the calibration interval starts.
— Depending on the model and preferences of the manufacturer, the period for checking the heat meter can vary from 4 to 10 years. The exact period of the meter is indicated in his passport, – says General Director of the management company Meridian Service Alexey Filatov.
As a rule, it is possible to replace the old heat meter with a new one after 12-18 years.
Who verifies heat meters
With the verification of heat meters, everything is strict. Either this is an organization that was engaged in its supply, or another company licensed to perform such activities.
“Do not hesitate to demand documents and proof of qualifications,” notes Roman Gladkikh.
Do not lose the device passport under any circumstances. Without it, nothing will be believed – not a single licensed organization will undertake this. The passport is the only document that indicates the dates of the primary and next verifications that the laboratory asks for.
How is the verification of heat meters
According to Alexey Filatov, the verification procedure is a comparison of the meter with the reference one. In general, the concept of “reference meter” implies the fact that it must undergo periodic verification. The event is held in two stages:
Roman Gladkikh suggests using the following step-by-step instructions.
Step 1. Take instrument readings and record them. This is important because the meter readings change during verification. So you can, firstly, make sure that the device was actually checked. And secondly, do not pay according to these indications if the meter is in the apartment.
Step 2. The meter is dismantled, a special insert is mounted for the verification period.
Step 3. The meter is delivered to the metrology laboratory and checked there with the help of a strait and a parallel reference meter. Verification period is about 2 weeks.
Step 4. Installing the meter in place and registering a trusted meter with a resource supply organization.
During the time when the meter is being verified, you will have to pay for heat according to the standard.
How much does it cost to calibrate heat meters
The cost of verification depends on the rates set by one or another accredited organization. Prices may differ in different locations.
— It all depends on the region. The amount can vary from 1500 to 3300 rubles, experts emphasize.
