Calendula officinalis is an annual plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. It comes from the Mediterranean zone, and in Poland it is cultivated both as a medicinal and ornamental plant. You can also meet wild marigolds. Since calendula has great healing properties, it is used in two forms: tea (infusion) and ointment. The infusion of the flowers of this plant is used in herbal medicine, and the ointment is used in many cases.
Calendula – health properties
Calendula has excellent opinions, both in the pharmacological and herbal industries, which is why it is used in the mass production of various types of medicinal products. Considering the properties of calendula, this is not surprising. Its use facilitates the healing of wounds and inflammation, it also has anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties.
