Calcium Polfarmex syrup is a preparation used in the prevention and treatment of the consequences of calcium deficiency. The agent contains calcium in the form of glubionate and lactobionate, which replenish its deficiencies in the body. Calcium is a substance that affects the proper electrolyte balance of the body. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using the drug. The preparation is in the form of an over-the-counter syrup.

Calcium Polfarmex syrup – indications and dosage
Calcium Polfarmex syrup is a preparation recommended for the prevention and treatment of the consequences of calcium deficiency.
Drug dosage
Calcium Polfarmex is a syrup to be taken orally. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the preparation.
Prophylactically
- Children 4-6. 3-4 times / day, 10 ml each.
- Children 7-14. 3 times / day, 10 ml each.
Therapeutically individually depending on the need
- Adults. 2-3 × / d for 15 ml.
Calcium Polfarmex syrup and contraindications
The following are contraindications to the use of Calcium Polfarmex syrup:
- allergy to any ingredient of the preparation,
- hypercalcemia,
- severe renal failure,
- hiperkalciuria.
Calcium Polfarmex syrup – warnings
- Calcium Polfarmex syrup may cause side effects in diabetic patients because it contains sucrose (sugar).
- People with problems related to fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take Calcium Polfarmex.
- Caution should be exercised in patients with hyperthyroidism, heart disease, sarcoidosis and nephrolithiasis.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the preparation.
Calcium Polfarmex syrup and other substances
- Calcium Polfarmex syrup may increase the effects of sulfonamides, digitalis glycosides and reduce the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics and fluoride compounds.
- Thiazide diuretics reduce the excretion of calcium.
- Vitamin D increases the absorption of calcium.
Calcium Polfarmex syrup – side effects
Taking Calcium Polfarmex syrup may cause:
- gastrointestinal disorders (constipation),
- hypercalcemia (increased levels of calcium in the blood),
- hypercalciuria (increase in excretion of calcium in the urine).
