Cabbage Diet – Main Product Choice
The cabbage diet is not the fastest (compared to the summer diet), but it is highly effective – primarily due to the low calorie content of the cabbage itself, which forms the basis of the diet. Moreover, with a low calorie content, cabbage contains most of the vitamins, minerals and plant fiber necessary for the body (stimulating the intestines).
A large number of different types and varieties of cabbage (Brussels sprouts – 44 Kcal, kohlrabi – 42 Kcal, cauliflower – 32 Kcal) are characterized by different energy values - cabbage diet does not limit you in choosing a variety (be guided by your taste and combine), but still, ordinary fresh (white) cabbage is most preferable – it has the lowest calorie content of all varieties (26 Kcal).
Sauerkraut has an even lower calorie content – 19 kilocalories – from this point of view cabbage diet it is more effective when it is carried out on sauerkraut. This is what the cabbage diet recommends – once every three days, fresh cabbage can and should be replaced with sauerkraut.
The cabbage diet does not limit
- The cabbage diet is quite tough – with acute bouts of hunger, you can eat cabbage leaves without restrictions.
- During the cabbage diet, you can drink green tea or non-carbonated and non-mineralized water without restrictions (they do not aggravate the feeling of hunger) – it is better if you drink at least 1,2 liters per day (a similar requirement is introduced by the medical diet). Using coffee in the morning on the menu – a requirement of almost all fast diets – is due to the fact that coffee speeds up metabolic processes (from 1% to 4%) – which is equivalent to the same additional weight loss.
Cabbage diet imposes restrictions
- An additional restriction is that sugar and salt cannot be added to food for all 10 days.
- Alcohol is prohibited in all forms.
- No flour and confectionery products.
The duration of the cabbage diet is 10 days – during this time, if all the recommendations are followed, a weight loss of 6 to 10 kilograms is guaranteed, depending on the physiological characteristics of the body and the amount of body fat (degree of obesity).
Repetition of the diet is possible no earlier than 2 months later.
- Breakfast: green tea, coffee (do not sweeten – the Japanese diet has a similar requirement), still and non-mineralized water
- Lunch: salad of fresh cabbage and carrots in vegetable (preferably olive) oil. Boiled beef, chicken or lean fish no more than 200 grams.
- Dinner: fresh cabbage salad, one quail (half chicken) egg, one apple or any other fruit (except banana).
- Drink a glass of low-fat (2%) kefir no later than 1 hours before bedtime.
Cabbage salad can be replaced at any time with cabbage soup with vegetables (you can alternate) – the cabbage diet also does not impose any restrictions on the amount of soup eaten.
The main plus of the cabbage diet is that weight loss is the most effective – when you switch to the correct diet, weight gain does not occur (the result is long-term).
The diet can be recommended for people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidneys (excluding gastric or duodenal ulcers, chronic and acute gastritis, enteritis and colitis, infectious diseases, etc.) – in any case, in the presence of any diseases, it is necessary consultation with a doctor.
Also, the positive effect of the cabbage diet can be attributed to the effective stimulation of the intestines (thanks to the vegetable fibers of cabbage).
The fourth advantage of the cabbage diet is that along with the loss of excess weight, the body will get rid of accumulated toxins and toxins (a consequence of the small amount of salt consumed).
The diet contains a low number of carbohydrates, but the required minimum of 20 grams is maintained (which allows the body to intensively consume reserves from fat deposits) – performance will be somewhat reduced, apathy is possible, the reaction rate will decrease, attention may worsen, headaches are possible (like chocolate diet) – therefore, the most optimal time for a diet will be vacation.
The second minus of the cabbage diet is that the diet is not ideally balanced in terms of vitamins and minerals – you may need an additional intake of vitamin and mineral complex preparations.
Cabbage Diet relatively tough – it is difficult to withstand all of its recommendations – but the result pays off.
The fourth drawback of the cabbage diet is that the metabolism is not normalized (the same principle is used by the watermelon diet), as a result, after the diet, the body will intensively try to replenish the lost kilograms – in the future, you will need to adhere to the principles of rational nutrition.
