Skipping meals is not one of the methods of losing weight, but of gaining a few centimeters around the waist. This is confirmed by research.

Obesity in pregnancy increases the risk of diseases in a child?
There is no shortage of people proud of every missed meal. After all, they will eat less, save on calories and lose weight. It doesn’t work that way, though. We’ve long said that skipping meals can result in a slower metabolic rate and a build-up of body fat as a reserve for ‘leaner days’. As it turns out, it’s also the best way to go increase waist circumference, and the stomach is the bane of many women, even with normal body weight.
To prove it, animal studies were conducted at Ohio State University this year. Control mice were allowed to eat at will, but only with one meal
The control group received regular meals and unlimited access to food. Initially, the mice in the test group lost weight, but as soon as their access to food was restored, they immediately ‘caught up’ with the mice in the control group. And that’s not all, it turned out that animals that were originally on a single-meal diet do more abdominal fat compared to the control groupwhich is associated with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Mice that ate one large meal a day showed an increase in inflammation and a higher activation of genes promoting the storage of fat particles, especially in the abdominal area.
The researchers analyzing the study emphasize that at the time of omission meals, we lead to greater fluctuations in glucose and insulin, which sets us our metabolism to store fat instead of burning it.
The above study is just another proof that it is not worth losing weight by skipping meals, especially if we have a problem with burning belly fat.
