Harvesting and storage of burdock roots
As a medicine, burdock roots of the first year of life are used (such a plant does not have a peduncle). You need to dig them out in September-October. The roots processed in this way are cut into pieces of 5-10 centimeters in size, thick ones are also cut lengthwise.
The prepared roots are dried outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. If the air humidity is high, the roots should be dried in dryers at a temperature of 45-50 ° C. Store dried roots in a dark, dry place. The maximum shelf life is three years.
